For those who say turbulence is fun I'm guessing you like roller coasters too? I think my phobia is more deep rooted in the thought that if something went terribly wrong no matter what the situation is out of my hands. Not much you can do when a plane is making a b line to the ground.

The last flight I was on in the US the chap sitting next to me was from Jersey he also hated flying and proceeded to tell me why must just a jersey thing

Sounds like fun to me. I was on a late night flight from reno to Vegas with only a dozen or so passengers and we hit a thunderstorm that tossed around a lot.

I Came a few feet off the chair a few times. My buddy was sitting across from me and was worried. The stewardess asked if he was ok and he said no. She asked him If I was ok because I was laughing. He told her yeah he likes this stuff. Its true..

I've flown on military craft, not designed for the wine sipping and cheese eating public. Strapped in, next to jeeps and tanks. fvcked up little seats. lost hydraulics on landing gear one time.

flown on blackhawks on some covert ops (training). lights out. total darkness. did that a few times. survived a near miss between two blackhawks one time.

I don't know, not much about flying bothers me. except just sitting there for hours and hours................

Me too ! Flew to Florida this past September, the pilot kept pushing the throttle then letting off, I had some insane anxiety, wasn't fun.

I took a Xanax and 3 shots of vodka on the plane to Puerto Rico.

Almost had to fly to florida yesterday..... I was happy i didnt have to.

Ok now you sound exactly like a buddy of mine I travel with. He also has to get to the airport 2hrs early. I like to get to the plane with 5 minutes or less to spare. He hates it. LoL

That's what I do Xanax or valium knocks me clean out but I snore like a bear so everyone looks at me but no one says a word lol. Wouldn't bother me if I didn't fly again

Zanax or Valium is fine but DONT try using Ambien. Ambien is much different and since there is so much going on you may wake up in the middle of your ambien sleep and do something you will regret. You will probably wake up in jail. lol

Xanax does strange things to me if I have to much, just like the time I ended up in a bad situation at a BDSM party good job I had a mask on

I stay away from the Xanax for the airplane at all possible cost. It seems to spawn this unnecessary assertiveness which leads to me getting in arguments over the most trivial things.

Klonopin is what I stick to now. In my experience with them I've given them the name forgotapins. I simply will remember nothing 30-45 minutes after taking the medication. I just wake up and hope my friend was a good babysitter on the flight. Never caused jail, but a stubbed toe or a random bruise is quite common after recovering. I'm glad there are others who are just as terrified as me.
