Thread: First cycle AI question

  1. #1
I am doing my first ever test cycle. I was concerned about gyno and retention because I have a lot of fat (spare me the lecture on why fat guys shouldn't take gear lol). Also, I had very small nodules behind my nipples for a while during puberty as well, and I had one episode in adulthood of pain behind my left nipple which was diagnosed as gyno. Therefore, I made sure to get an AI from the get go. I'm on a plain test e cycle 500mg/wk. I've been taking 0.25mg of Arimidex EOD. My PCT as of right now is going to be Clomid, although I do have Nolvadex coming as well. My question is, does this seem like a decent AI dose to start and then increase as needed to say 0.5mg EOD? And if I suddenly do start getting worrisome symptoms should I start some Nolva? I want to do as little as possible that could affect lean gains, all the while being proactive on any side effects. I also want to use what I have on hand.

That is the logical approach to take yes. Look into hcg on your cycle as well. Finding out the right amount of ai to take on cycle without bloodwork is more of a reaction approach. It's hard to dial this in so you really need to monitor your side effects carefully.

.25 eod is a pretty standard starting point. Labs are really key to keep things dialed in.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the input. I'm trying to pay close attention to how my body reacts to this first cycle. I tried to keep it simple.

I always watch for the first sign of nip sensitivity. Some cycles it doesn't bother me other cycles I start to feel a little lump and jump on nov at that point. You never know.

You will feel some sensitive in the nips when your hormones rise. This doesn't mean it's gyno. It's just your body's reaction. Sure your probably know that but the OP might not.

Yeah I've noticed that already. You'd think my nips were constantly cold Lol. I figured that was just hormone changes. I haven't had any itching or painful nodules behind them so far. I was going to use that as my guage on bumping up the AI dose. Thanks for the input.

Yes, very well aware...... and that is usually the starting point of gyno. If he is unaware of the symtoms then he can't be as proactive in taking care of it. A lot of guys procrastinate with this and then they not only ruin there cycle but have to go on an extensive gyno protocol......no fun!

Since you said you have high body fat, I would go with at least 0.5mg adex EOD. Possibly even more if your blood work results show elevated E2.

My rationale is that if you already have a high body fat level you are going to have more aromatase enzyme and therefore higher estrogen levels. This is why people say don't use AAS with high bodyfat, so therefore do everything you can to keep your estrogen levels in check.

As a person with high bodyfat AND a prior GYNO case, you are what I would consider at a higher risk for estrogen related sides IE gyno.

I had really considered going the 0.5 route for the exact logic you state. I may just do that. I'm kind of obsessively aware of the slightest changes in my body if that makes any sense. I've always been that way plus being a 15 year health care professional doesn't hurt either. When I had the gyno in adulthood, I had had the pain there for weeks and they sent me for a mammo which showed a tiny area of gyno. So hopefully I'll be pretty quick at picking up on initial symptoms. Thanks for your input.
