Devour the Day today in the gym. Was in the mood to hear some uplifting stuff.
I'm thinking some more slayer this new album has me on a mad slayer buzz.
Can't blame you there. Such a solid a album from start to finish.Originally Posted by DCI

Oh, and Chris Adler isn't with Megadeath anymore.
Just spent a little time on I-tunes and downloaded some old stuff from Slipknot and Megadeth that I didn't have. And please don't flame me too badly, but some Motley Crue- but I really dig some of their guitar riffs.
No flaming on anything here man. It's all good. Used to love crue. Nikki Sixx has a cool band Sixx AMOriginally Posted by Proximal

Going to see Disturbed today with Breaking Benjamin, Alter Bridge and Staint Asonia. Should be a good time. I'll take and post pics!
Down with the sickness baby!
Went old school blues/stoner rock for lifting early this morning. At around 4 a.m.-ish, way out in very rural SC, I'm down in my shop pushing through a chest session; sometimes life is just plain good.

Not really impressed with the Prophets of Rage song, "Prophets of Rage". It just did't grab me, disappointed.
Plus, they rescheduled the Slipknot concert (due to Cory's neck) to an upcoming Sunday night - the night before the return to the first day of school! Simply no way can I enjoy that now, have to get a refund for my tickets or give them away.
Just got my Gojira tix for September. Gonna be awesome.
Congrats! Just got my refund for Slipknot - happy about getting the $ back, but bummed I'm missing the show.
they're playing at a big venue about an hour away from me on Tuesday and I'm not going. I have a lot going on unfortunately but would love to go. Besides its on a fvcking Tuesday wtfOriginally Posted by Proximal

It was a bad ass show. Pretty rough and heavy. Just picked up Offspring and Skillet/Devour the Day tix for Sept/Oct as well old offspring fan from the 90s, Skillet is ok but I really like DTD.Originally Posted by almostgone

Heard some new Korn today - sweet! Also, have a weird appreciation for certain Ice-T and Bodycount songs. Have been listening to "Talk Shit, get shot" over and over non-stop.
Yeah man they're not bad. Like em too. They're touring with Slipknot and Manson right now.Originally Posted by almostgone
Hell yeah. Saw Body Count at Mayhem a couple years back and they slayed.Originally Posted by Proximal
The makeup and theatrics kind of remind me of the old King Diamond stuff, but I like the sound of this and the retro looking scenery.

Really like these guys as well. They remind me of kind of a modern System of a Down.Originally Posted by almostgone

Definitely a good tune, enjoyed that. Never heard it before either. Cure has some great old punk stuff as well.Originally Posted by kelkel
Kel, have to tell you - Cheap Trick has a real special place in my rock & roll heart. I grew up in the midwest, I started to see these guys just as they emerged from playing bars and local clubs in the late 70's. Now I've seen them live more than any band out there. Plus if you guys wish, I can tell you my Gene Simmons story that I have while I saw them play in Los Angeles a decade or so ago.
Cheap Trick was just inducted into the Rock & Roll hall of fame, they were monsters when they played night - they are simply one of the best live bands out there. Can't speak any more highly of them.
Jesus Kel, you've got monster muscles, paper-thin skin AND you've got awesome taste in music? You've got it all big guy![]()
Love to hear the story Prox. When I was young there was a particular bar I frequented (way too much) where many of the bands that were playing in the larger Phila arena's would come to on off nights and play. It was great. Saw sooo many great bands such as:
Hall and Oats
George Thorogood (he's actually from the area)
Pat Benatar
Allman Brothers
David Clayton Thomas (without Blood Sweat and Tears) and regarding him, I've never to this day heard a voice as impressive in person.
Metallica
And many, many more

Life of Agony for the ride into the city.
X2 on the Gene Simmons story, Prox. Let's hear it!
True story: At a Cheap Trick show at the House of Blues on Sunset strip, I'm thinking mid 90's. My wife and I are sitting at the bar, I have a beer in one hand and my other arm was around her shoulder.
Just then Gene Simmons starts to walk right in front of us.
I turn to my wife to tell her, so she'll notice and I subconsciously needed to point to him. Both arms were being used, so for what-ever reason I lifted my leg to point with my knee (go-figure) - yep, I kneed Genes Simmons right in the balls.
Wasn't too hard, but enough for him to turn and give me a WTF look.
Thanks for listening.
Boom. That's freaking awesome. HahaOriginally Posted by Proximal
