Alright guys after almost ten years I finally bought a ring for this chick. We’ve been through hell together but she’s been amazing to me and makes my life better in so many ways so I dug myself a nice little financial hole buying her a decent ring lol but hey I only plan on doing this once so I had to do it right lol.
I should have the ring by Christmas so I was thinking of doing it then. Still have to ask the fathers permission... even though I’m sure I have as we’ve touched on this subject once or twice around her family haha. But I figured the right thing to do is formally ask him (even though I’m very certain he’s not crazy about me and the feeling is mutual lol) .... you guys agree?

Anyways I was thinking Christmas Day... possibly when we go over to my family’s house.... or I was just thinking of getting it over with when we are at our house together lol. You guys have any ideas/advise???

Well done on being together so long, life partners are rare and most people just settle for what's there. I don't get how contracts are romantic but if your dead set on this woman go for it. Have an over the top day but I'm not sure about Christmas, the anniversary will pull focus and vice versa. Don't ask permission coz your not buying her anymore.

I’m popping the questing in January. Her best friend and I are planning it together. It’s going to be a disguised as a couples trip since her best friends birthday is that particular weekend. We are going to all walk down to a huge waterfall. Her friends are going to act like they are taking pictures of us. Somehow we will distract her and then I will pull out the ring and do it then. I’m nervous as allllll get out.

I’m very happy for you. It’s great to have someone that you can spend and share a lifetime of experiences with. Good or bad, but you still manage and thrive together.

Another nice workout.

Lighter weights but lots of time under tension. Takes me 3-4 minutes to complete each set. I’m doing full body this week since i took 3 weeks off. Interestingly I have not got sore once doing this long time under tension workout, but am completely spent by the time I’m done.

Everything went great guys! We went to a Christmas party on her mother’s side of the family Christmas Eve and I was able to get a minute to formally ask her father, which went well and I’m really glad I did because I believe it was 100% the right thing to do.
Christmas morning it was just my girlfriend and I (and our dog) at our house. She gave me all my presents and then I sprung the ring on her.... totally surprised her and I’ll never forget how incredible her reaction was. It made every dollar spent and all the stress I went through worth it and then some. It was a good Christmas for sure!
