I spend so much money on gear+food but it's all an investment into myself - wouldn't have it any other way. I think it's a lot better than wasting money on designer clothing. Why spend $90 on a T Shrit when you can spend $15 and use the other $75 for a bottle of Tren.
Never feel its a waist of money. As long as we pay down our houses, the money would be gone anyway. Cars, wheels, designer clothes, gambling, tatoos (lol kidding), holidays etc etc.
Its a choice and this is what we do!
