Unfortunately, when I was kid & Saved By the Bell was the hot shit - me & this guy had too much in common(from looks, personality & goofy looking clothes) - all the negative attributes. I earned his nickname name as my own for all of my US grade school years.

But, in my case - I wasn’t playing a role.

I remember saying this to myself - I’d trade my life with this guy in a heart beat - considering he’s famous af & I lived in extreme poverty.

Unfortunately for him - in adult life, he was quite a dipshit. Who knows exactly what he was doing, as far substance abuse & so on(I don’t even think he knew) - but, to drop dead at 44 < < < that hits close to home hard


Be thankful for who you are - it might take quite a while to figure out why

RIP to Dustin Diamond. He entertained us, maybe at the expense of his self esteem. The guy seemed complexed and defensive after the show. The whole world knows who Screech was, and it’s incredibly sad that he passed so young.

I don’t know about screech but you remind me of the shotgun guys in old school Doom.

I seen a couple months back where he had cancer i think stage 4 . 44 years old. Fuck you never know when you’re gonna go.

No bro, he was diagnosed 3 weeks back - he put it off for a unknown time tho - I tried to get ahold of his PR rep, 2 days later he passed

I don’t know about screech but you remind me of the shotgun guys in old school Doom.

Thanks to lotts of steroids & a ton of self determination to change myself - And, a ton of luck - so far

If you make it to 85, pretty much all your friends are dead. It would be nice to have kids and grandkids though I suppose.

I have a theory about why people were so anally religious 200 years ago... because in a family with 10 kids... 7 or 8 of them would make it to the age of 20... so they were always surrounded by death. Being in such a horrible environment could only be remedied by constantly thinking about going to heaven and seeing their lost loved one's again (and by being very religious in their day to day activities to ensure this). I found my great-great grandfather's grave in the west of Ireland, he died in 1899. Back then it was cold for 3/4 of the year, there was no electricity or central heating, and their brothers and sisters and friends were dying all around them. I would imagine this is why the Catholic church got such a hold on Ireland -- people desperately needed religion.

I was born in the 80's, and I made it to the age of about 16 without one of my friends dying. One of the guys in school got cancer and died at 16. But 200 years ago, if you made it to the age of 10, you'd probably already had 3 or 4 friends that died -- so everyone prayed and believed in God just to get by.

I had Wolf3D before that, I was running it on a 66 MHz 486DX. I had a nice VGA screen though.

Yes I watched Saved by the Bell in the early 90's, it was quite far into a few seasons by then. I watched it on "The Children's Channel" which was broadcast in the UK & Ireland. Then it was replaced by a show called "California Dreams", and The Children's Channel was replaced with Nickelodeon and we got all those shows like Keenan & Kel, Sister Sister, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Rugrats.

When I was a kid we also had the channel Sky One, with the DJ Cat Show. People used to ring in on the phone to play the videogame and shout "up, up, up, up, left, left, left, left".
