Have you had luck with NAC yourself ?
I run 2 grams daily on a cruise and up to 4 grams on a heavier cycle ...been doing this for awhile i have not ran BW to diagnose whether it actually provides benefit or not. This would probably be a helpful self study i will say my creatinine has dropped a ful .2 points over the years while adding around 20lbs lbm but i cant prove the NAC is the contributor to this
