    Do steroids lower sperm count?

Currently on a cycle and my friend keeps saying it lowers sperm count. Can some one clarify this for me? I was under the assumption it only does from abuse and years of using

Yes... cycling lowers sperm production while on cycle... (and possibly off cycle if your HPTA doesn't fully recover...)
It does not mean you can't get a girl pregnant... so still wear a condom.

Using steroids throws off the body's complex endocrine feedback system, which stops endogenous testosterone production and is what you need to make sperm. PCT is important, but it can take months for the body to recover to a point when it's producing 'normal' levels of sperm.

so if i do a proper pct my levels can resort back to normal, it doesn’t slowly decline after each cycle?

There's no guarantee you'll recover fully, which is why PCT is so important.

Indeed, the more you cycle, the less the chance you have of going back to healthy, natural testosterone levels. It's not a given and everyone's different, but it's worth taking this into account.

Most guys don’t do bloodwork and most guys don’t cycle just once. Usually people will be on a number of cycles before they get persistent low T symptoms.

Well, it can make it harder to have kids when you're ready to start a family. But people like Dave Palumbo did heavy doses of gear for over a decade and after stopping gear was able to have 3 kids.

There are a lot of guys who knocked up their old lady while they were on gear. So don't think you're protected.

What is I do a 11 weeks test cycle and then do another one without pct? I mean.. I just started a cutting one but was only off the gear for 4 weeks with no pct?

Yes, it will. That doesn't mean that once you started taking the steroids and the sperm count will be gone. I have read on a Canadian Pharmacy website that it goes during the on-cycle and when it will be off-cycle, your HPTA will be recovered and simultaneously the sperm count. So it depends on the recovery of HPTA. But in any case it can't stop preganancy.

I’m not sure about sperm count but from my personal experience it definitely doesn’t stop a pregnancy...

I would expect results to be on an individual basis...if you want to know your sperm count go get a sample before you cycle, during your cycle, and after you pct at least 4-6 weeks. Instead of a general yes or no answer I believe this is person dependent but im no Dr

I called my doctor this morning to ask about a male fertility test and he just told me that I'd have to go to a private clinic because the public health service only does fertility stuff for couple who haven't been able to conceive for a year.

Can you lie to them and say that you and your old lady have been trying?

I like my doctor, he's a cool guy, I think he's under 30. I wouldn't lie to him unless I had a very significant reason (e.g. trying to get off a murder charge). He knows a lot about me anyway.

Getting my sample tested at a private clinic shouldn't be too expensive. Although my doctor over the phone today say it is rare for a healthy man in his 30's to be infertile.
