    IM injection vs SubQ?

Hey guys I am just looking for some info on this like Pros-Cons? I've done years of IM injections to the point of scar tissue in the glute and have switched to insulin needles. I pin delt and quad so I think I'm hitting muscle (I'm pretty lean) but I am not very educated on this. Thanks.

There is some talk currently in the forum about sub-q vs IM, but it summarizes like this:

Volume - subq is only good to about .40ml maybe .50ml if you are lucky. IM for anything over that.
Absorbtion - jury is out. Yes, you will find studies indicating one is better than the other, but personal experience varies. In general, sub-q: slower, IM: faster.
Carrier Oil - in either case, you want the one that causes the least reaction in you. I like GSO, others prefer MCT. Toss up here.
PIP - can occur with IM
Lumps - can occur with sub-q, can be a little sore for a day or two.

Personally, I do up to .33ml or so subq without issue, but that is with high quality GSO test and sometimes masteron. When I get to the point that I am doing a blast, I will hit at least some injections IM, just because of volume.

Im hitting my delts and quads with an insulin pin, do you think its getting IM or would it be considered subq?

If you are lean, and using 1/2" pins, then yeah, at least close enough to IM. If some leaks subq, it isn't the end of the world.

Of course there are different insulin needle lengths, but in general, an insulin pin will be de facto subcutaneous whether you pinch up the skin for "subq" or shove straight in for IM.

I really dont see why someone would want a 1” pin on delts unless they just have body fat levels very high I refuse to believe that I have over half an inch of pure fat on my delts

When I got the Vax, I was like "so do y'all use a 1 inch needle?" And they were like no, it's 1 and a half. Like damn, you getting in there, ain't ya?

I guess they have to be prepared to inject anyone, from the super skinny to the morbidly obese...

Actually, both the times I had injections, from two different places, I felt damn near nothing. I told them both "damn, that's good injection technique". I'm sure they were like we do so many of these we got it down. The second time The Wife and I went at the same time and we in there together when we got ours. The technician did not stick the needle in all the way in on my wife, leaving maybe 1/4 to 1/2" out. Still got it in there though. I didn't watch, but probably buried it to the hilt on me lol

I do slin pins about 99% of the time. I do it essentially because I pin daily. I was convinced to go daily when I saw difference i. Keeping the serum levels stable without the spike… big difference when on Tren.
I pin quads, bicep, tricep, chest, medial delt, and front delt.
The only difference I have noted is not having scar tissue.

Slin pinning will cut your changes of scare tissue and/or abscesses 99%. Trust me on that one I rarely do IM injections anymore unless im doing a big blast with like 3 compounds.

Can you only do sub q with slin pins, or can you do I'm with them as well?

Depends on the area. If there is alot of fat, it won’t be IM.

Gotcha. I've been solely pinning in my thighs. I dont carry a lot of fat on my thighs like I do my glutes, and currently use a 3/8"g needle.

I have tried most needle combinations. Everything from 1.5" 18G to like 4mm 33G. I have done 1mL with an insulin pin before and it was fine. My TRT I exclusively use insulin syringes now. Why? 1) Insulin syringes free on my insurance where other needles basically not covered, 2) less scar tissue, 3) more comfortable, 4) accuracy of measurement with microdosing. For oils, get the 1cc/1mL/100iu and back fill them [maintain sterility]. I have tried the more rare 1/2mL/50iu syringes but they dont work well at all for oil and backfills. The surface tension across the smaller diameter pin is too great.

    This is definitely a thing.

    I usually draw with 1/2ml 27g pin and back fill into a 1ml 27g 1/2". Works great.

Yeah, I know we don't have to be THAT precise with most oil based stuff, but I do like to keep my pep dosage more precise.
