Thread: Acid reflux is killing me

    I saw the throat specialist again today. He put a camera down my throat again and took a look. My ulcer is worse, I have two now. My throat is pretty red. He wants me to take another 40mg of pantoprazole 45 minutes before dinner. This is in addition to the 40mg of pantoprazole I’m taking in the morning and 40mg of famotidine I take before bed. This is only temporary until things get under control.

    He’s really stressing I drink nothing but water for a couple months. No pre workout, no Gatorade, flavored water, etc. Absolutely nothing but just plain water. As far as food I need to eat lean protein like chicken, fish, eggs, and vegetables. No more protein powder either. I eat clean 90% of the time so the food isn’t a huge deal. We do like to get take out on the weekends… usually nothing more than 3 times and it’s usually burgers and fries, which never seemed to bother me but I’m sure the doctor would say absolutely not.

    This is going to be tough… basically anything that brought me a little bit of joy I have to give up for god knows how long. But the pain in my throat and all the other symptoms are about enough to make me go through with this.

    I think I should also give up the cialis. I use chewing tobacco very moderately too but I am going to give that up too. I’m also going to drop back down to a trt dose and give up on this blast in case the gear is part of the problem… and I’m not able to eat the way I need to to make progress so I might as well quit it anyways.

    I guess maybe one good thing that might come out of this is I’ll get very lean on this crazy diet I have to be on.

    Just reading your thread and sounds painful. You’ve been thru enough!!

    Your doctor’s recommendation of food caught my eye!!!

    I had acid reflux - very mild case in comparison. I’ve had no issues once removing refined sugar of all kinds and refined four of all kinds - basically no processed foods, no alcohol, no bread, no candy….)

    Protein, fat, grain (potato, sweet potato, rice), fruit and a ton of veggies! I do still take coffee…it’s my joy every morning.

    I hope you get relief!! Quickly!!!

    Appreciate the kind words! The food isn’t a huge change for me, I’m having a harder time with the drinks for sure. I was drinking sugar free drinks but the issue I guess is the citric acid, carbonation, and caffeine. Hopefully I can push through this, get healed up, and then be able to live a somewhat normal life lol.
