I reckon the ratio is the other way around. I'd say 14 out of 15 people don't have a problem, but 1 in 15 gets an abscess. I don't know the real numbers, I'm just guessing.
What it comes down to is how much of a risk taker you are. Are you willing to risk a 1 in 15 chance of an abscess?
In fairness I've probably injected myself in the buttock a few hundred times and never gotten an abscess, but for me it's more about being adverse to manufacturers cutting corners and trying to save money by making a less safe product. Why put 50mg anavar in a pill when you can put in 35mg and nobody will notice really? Or why spend the extra time and money disinfecting an oil?
I'd be happy enough with veterinarian grade stuff though.
