Man, me and you both. We went to some friends house for an early Christmas thing, and The Wife was like "hey, do you want to record the game?" I said, no, good gravy no, it will be a massacre.

Then we got home around 9pm and it was a game. I let my hopes get up for just a minute, but I knew in the back of my mind that they could let me down. 5 field goals, 1 touchdown. Convert just one of those field goals into a TD, boom, winner winner chicken dinner!

Wango- need some advice. I had quad tendon surgery. There was only a thread left holding things together, so it was torn pretty good.
I am taking vit C for the oxidative stress from the operation, fish oil to lower the inflammation and collagen to help in the repair. I am also taking a small amount of Decca (300 mg), HGH (5iu) and BPC 157 (10 iu) site specific injection. Recovery is going great- just slow. I go to therapy 1 x week. I was scheduled 2x but the therapist said it was a waste of time due to my progress.
I have 137 degrees of flexión. I am 75 days past the operation. I do the bike or treadmill daily for 15 minutes (plus my workout). No legs in the workout. I still have minor swelling which the Dr said is to be expected. Obviously, my diet considers the need for protein in the rebuilding process.
Is there anything more that I could be taking to help speed the recovery? I am used to pushing my limits and now the Dr is saying no. I just want to make sure that I am speeding up the recovery as much as possible.

This team better make killer moves over the off-season or Justin’s talent in the trillion dollar stadium will just go to waste.

The very short answer is no.

    1. Follow your surgeon’s protocol to the letter!
    2. I understand Deca is used to mitigate joint pain during exercise which is why I’ve never endorsed it for that usage. If the pain is there with exercise, it’s telling you valuable information, particularly after surgery.
    3. It’s still not clear if AAS is a detriment to tendons or not. See the picture & google the topic. So to use it after tendon repair ?!? Yeah, it’s helping your muscles recover more quickly but the repair is to your tendon.
    4. I guess the HGH might help quicken the repair? It seems logical, but so will time alone; why the rush?
    5. Tendon surgical repair recovery is supposed to be slow! And you’re in your 50’s as well. Once again, why the rush?

    AM
    30 minutes bike
    150 side/oblique crunches

Hopefully workout #2 in the afternoon - I’d better because my wife’s cooking is insane & my sister in law just brought us over some of the best homemade Christmas cookies I’ve ever had.

    EDIT:

    PM

Just finished watching KC lose! So very sorry Taylor .

    3 SS lat Pulldowns w/high curls (15x)
    3 SS rows w/ hammer curls (15x)
    3 SS shrugs w/alternating curls (15x)

    Merry Christmas!

Dang Wango. Why do you need to do logical? [emoji1787]
I have some bodybuilding accomplishments that I need to finish and I am going to become a MMA ref and need to submerge myself in Jui Jitsu to get there. That is how this happened. [emoji1787]
I officiate 5 sports and am missing a lot of the wrestling season.
I am almost at the age where sarcopenia sets in. I have a lot of accomplishments that I need to do. I am aggressive at trying to get back, but not ignorant (according to me. [emoji1787]).
If I were to ask Obs, the answer would be to up the tren. [emoji1787]
I just wish that there was blood flow to tendons.

Just basic AM workout while watching ESPN today.

    Bike x 30 minutes
    200 side/oblique crunches

HGH definitely working in boosting my metabolism, so glad I resumed.

Working on getting an outdoor “Catio” enclosure/play-space for our two little girls, that are getting more athletic by the day. When they get fully grown, they’ll be something to behold.

    3 SS of lat Pulldowns w/rows (15,12,12)
3 SS of shrugs w/high curls (12 all)
    3 SS of reverse Curls w/curls (10,10, 8)
3 SS reverse flies w/hammer curls (12 all)

    Nice week thus far . . . .

    Last workout of 2023:

    3 SS decline flies w/upright rows (15,13,12)
    3 SS incline flies w/dips (15,12,12)
3 SS of lateral raises w/ pressdowns (15,12,12)
4 sets decline close grip press (15,13,12,10)

The last 2 workouts showed me I can in fact go with more resistance and keep the bands moving smoothly. I located some 90 and 100 pound bands and will add them soon. My moderate-heavier bands (30-80#) feel like they’re about 60-70% of the stated resistance. Not bad considering you can combine bands.

Blessed with a very nice if not great 2023 & I am extremely thankful. NFL tonight & Sunday, & then back to business 1/1/24!

And now, man, there is all sorts of controversy over what happened. Not a lick of it benefits the Lions at this point, because they won't get a do over, and it all seems to boil down to "he said, no, he said" type of stuff. It's not a good look though.

New day, week, month & year; let’s get at it!

    AM
    Bike x40 minutes
    450 side/oblique crunches

    PM
    3 sets rows (15,12,12)
    4 sets goblet squats (15, 12, 12, 10)
    3 SS hammer curls w/shrugs (12 all)
    3 SS rear flies w/high curls (15,12,12)
    3 SS reverse Curls w/curls (12,11,10)

Slightly “cooler” weather (relatively speaking) & the shoulder is a touch stiff/sore so I left out lat Pulldowns to avoid any overhead motion.

No hard core fat loss goals/routine yet, but going back to zero-no rice, pasta, bread or any form of snacks,

This was too tasty & I liked the way the pic turned out. Today’s lunch. Oops, bread and butter - well, I ain’t cutting fat yet so why the hell not. Oh and that filet is cool-barely warm in the center, it’s got a nice purple color!

I went to Germany once, and had Steak tartare. It’s pretty much raw beef mince. It was nice, but I think I like my meat cooked at least a little

Love tartare. I also love carpaccio - the filet is sliced super thin, but still raw or if you want it quickly seared on the outside, that works too. I’m not like the liver-king dude, but I’m definitely a carnivore.

On a side note, I’m glad that you are recovering!

Never tried carpaccio. I’ll have to put on my to try list.
Thank you, the recovery is taking longer than expected.

Took a pre-happy hour 2 miler yesterday as it was a bit of a rest day.

    Today:
    3 SS lat. Pulldowns w/curls (20,15,15)
3 SS bent over lateral raises w/high curls (15 all)
    3 sets of rows (20,15,15)
    4 sets goblet squats (15,15,12,12)
4 consecutive sets of hammer curls, drop set style: 18,16,14,12

Feeling good, but “colder” weather does make my shoulder ache a bit more. If that’s my biggest complaint, then I’m a lucky dude.

The ESPN analysts were brutal towards the Cowboys today. GB played one hell of a game though!
