making tne with lye

i poured my lye into the heet mix. It turned green and then the lye collected at the bottom. i let it sit for 24 hours and the lye is still their. should I filter out the lye or just start adding the distilled water. thanks

First of all, this should be in the lab forum bro, as I assume you are refering to a syno conversion?

Second, it sounds like you may have mesed up here. If you were going to use lye as your base, you should have dissolved it in distilled water prior to adding it to your methanol solution. I don't know of any way to fix it now. How much methanol did you use, and how much lye did you add?

i did disovle the lye in water first but when i did this their was no reaction with the water and when i poured it inthe heet it just got hard
