As a reply to me, this is verging on moronic. Can you not see how utterly pointless it is to tell to tell the girl she "SHOULD HAVE thought it through"? It doesn't matter that she should have. She DIDN'T. That can't be changed. So, how does it help to focus on how decisions which have already been made could have been made better? It's not constructive at all. The right thing would be to let her make her own decision on what the best course of action is, and be supportive.

Jeez. Anyone can say, "You should have thought about that..."
