Red Sox nation is back and better than ever in 2004. For the first time in a long time, Red Sox fans have a team that stacks up against a team that knows how to win. The Yanks added some serious wood to their line up no doubt, but here is why they will fall short to Boston in the fall: Pitching. Boston has a superior starting rotation that will out perform over the long haul of an MLB season than the Yankees. Kevin Brown is a time bomb, he will undoubtedly be on the disabled list. Jon Lieber is unproven in the AL and hasnt pitched in MLB in over a year. The Red Sox bring back the same rotation that got them to game 7 last year, with the addition of a lights out second second starter in Curt Schilling. Also, the battle of the bullpen has to stack up in the Red Sox corner. The X factor in this years AL East race will be the Blue Jays, you heard it here first, whoever (yanks or Sox) beat this team more consistently will win the division.![]()
