Yes, there is a double standard but that double standard is mainly perpetuated by women not men, i.e. it is other women who like to call promiscuous women sluts in a nasty way, if a guy calls a girl a slut it is often almost meant as a compliment - "Yeah, she's great, she's a slut!"
