you and i control the demand. buy a bike, hybrid or some nikes.
in the long run we will find alternatives and the demand will be less.
oil will be back down to 40 bucks a barrell. (maybe less)

though o.p.e.c. controls the gas prices, bush is the *sshole who still has our troops in iraq, and he's the one who went to war with their country without just cause, so yes, he certainly is to blame cause that war is what caused these gas price increases!!!

everyone knows there's no need for our troops out there anymore now. all they are is fodder for drawing out "insurgents", who at this point are actually mostly p*ssed off locals in iraq that are so fed up with our troops being there they're trying to get them out personally. if we had troops hanging around in our country for years without any just cause that had no business being here, would you welcome them with open arms? bush has made america a joke in the eyes of many other countries, saying as he can't control their press and other countries expose the truth of how ridiculous his dragging out of this war is.

bush's entire family are oil tycoons, so they will continue to do whatever is necessary to keep driving oil prices up and act as if there's nothing we can do. rest assured, bush is certainly the one to blame. i'd like to know how much his family is selling their oil out of texas for now? if he was truly concerned about this country, it should be at a fairly low price to help us out. i can assure you though, he's gouging us just as bad if not worse than all the others. that's certainly something you won't see in the press.

another interesting fact is that right as we were planning to go to war with iraq, saddams cousin stated on their countries news channels "we know this is about the oil. lets negotiate. we do not want war.". anyone else remember that? saddam may have been a harsh dictator, but he wasn't stupid and obviously neither was his cousin. also, i have several friends who are in the military and i know the first thing in iraq they were told to do was not secure the civilians safety, not to track down weapons of mass destruction, not even to track down saddam, but to secure the oil refineries. now what does that tell you about bush's priorities?

also, all that's needed at this point is to release the reserves. we release the reserves and decline demand sharply in response to their gouging, they will innevitably drop their prices. however, bush has no intent on doing so because he wants those higher prices on oil so he makes out like a bandit.

until we get bush out of office, the prices will continue to go up. however, unless we get a president who's family isn't into oil, we won't end up much better off. i do believe if things keep going the way they're going though, a big determining factor in who will be our next president will be based on their views and plans for reducing oil prices for the US.

now you don't honestly think bush cares at all about that countries income, do you? all he truly cares about is getting people into office in that country that he's buddies with, hence why he's not withdrawing troops yet. it might be interesting for me to note at this point that our ground troops have routinely cut-off supplies, including food and water, to those in parts of the country who have needed it merely because those people didn't support bush's pushing a democracy on them? he'd rather kill people who won't follow him in a country that isn't his to rule than give them free choice, and you honestly think he cares about them?

also, if he were so concerned about the income for their country, why has he not released control of the oil fields yet to the country and allowed them to begin production on their oil again? your reasoning has far too many flaws to be legit, though it sounds like a typical "bush excuse". not only is his war ripping apart our economy, but it has already ripped apart iraq's. he's done nothing good at all for them, and does nothing but give them a false hope of a system they partake in with voting, which as we see in this country, gives you no real control over anything that goes on regarding decisions, laws, etc.

yes, there was the potential for saddam lighting them on fire again, but why does the US make that our concern? think about that. you say it's that countries oil, but bush has no concern for the countries civilians which is clearly indicated from the casualties from attacks made that are indiscriminatory towards friend and foe alike in the country. there is a deeper underlying reasoning here that you're overlooking.

drop big time...we are one of the world's largest consumers of gas....if all of a sudden our gas consumption dropped that much...gas prices would go down...but that wouldn't happen. Then soccer mom's wouldn't be able to take up the road and go 10 miles per hour less than everyone else in huge suv's

speaking of bikes my cousin just got a new Kawisaki Ninjia 650 that thing is sweet i must say, he runs premium gas in it coast about 10 bucks to fill it up gas tank hold about 3 gallons i dont know his MPG range, but i was thinking of getting one,

but on the other hand if you think about all the money you spend on the bike payment/maintence/ect....its just like putting gas in the car/truck/suv you drive now so you could be spending more money..

in my case my jeep is paid off, and i just do most of my driveing around town sometimes a weekend trip here or there but do you guys think it whould cost more to buy a bike or whould it save you money in the long run ???????????

Yeah , you get like 40-80mpg depending on your cc. my buddies R1 gets 50 around town, further more a brand new crotch rocket typically doesnt run you more than 10g and maintence, how much is 2 quarts of oil compared to 4+, youve only got two tires when they need replaced and brakes last a long time since its a clutch.. its way cheaper to run a bike bro

I think the whole nation shoud go on strike in buying gas for 2 days. it would be a big loss for all those gas industries. May after this they will lower it. it's always been all about the money for politicians, the pharmaceutical industry, and the fda. the reason it's so obvious now is cause bush was so sloppy about trying to cover it up cause he's an idiot, and when the puppet doesn't have a hand up his *ss, he can't do anything right. between 9/11, the dragged-out (and unjustified) iraq war, his failure to release the reserves, etc, he's made it so obvious that finally even the everday layman is beginning to see how corrupt our government is.

the most pathetic thing is the majority of our population is so stupid they actually voted him in for a second term before realizing what i (and many others who didn't have their head up their *ss) had right after 9/11 happened. if i offended anyone who did vote for him 2nd term, you certainly deserve to be offended, cause you voted out of complete ignorance for a deceptive, greed-filled ruler who is far worse than saddam ever was.

we don't truly live in a democracy. in a true democracy, every individual would vote on laws and every other important decision made for this country. however, your congress "decides what's best", which is in truth only "what's best" for their incomes. you know congress had actually passed a law which actually allows them to trade stocks based on inside information. so if we do we go to jail, but if they do, it's ok. now where was my opportunity to vote on that law???

well, it's all "he said, she said" anyway. i believe i'm right, as i'm sure you do as well, and i'll just leave it as each of us respecting different opinions. good to know you're not over there anymore though. as far as knowing the truth, it's practically impossible without being able to get inside someones head, and i sure wouldn't want to get in bush's head.

i'm sure in some ways, we have done some good for at least some of iraq's people. saddam wasn't the greatest ruler after all and was a harsh dictator. however, all in all i just believe this war was unfounded (as did almost every other country who advised bush against going to war without reasonable cause), i believe bush's intents behind this war were for financial and political gain, and bush has proven himself to be a president who has let our economy go to hell in a handbasket. after all, no matter how you look at it, the war he started is what allows o.p.e.c. to keep bringing those oil prices up and him keeping troops over there and stalling their oil production is what's gonna keep it rising.
