-It was her fault, determined by the cop, witness and everyone there I was going at 35mph when it happened (within legal limit) so

Many states down there dont require insurance on motorcycles... Some dont require helmets, some require one or both..

Everyone in a car is out to kill you, and their much bigger than you. Yes, many times (95%) the accident is the cars fault, I know that... But 99.5% of the time, the biker ends up more hurt than the guy in the car. What does that tell you? Noone is gonna keep you safe but you..

Im sorry for ripping into you, and im glad your ok. I see this alot tho, and trust me, it doesnt matter who's at fault when your dead on the side of the road. Ive done a few funeral parades on my bikes in my day, and they are never fun. Some at fault, some not, but the end result was the same

I hear ya bro and I agree 100% with you, It wasnt my fault though and everyone assumed it was my fault, that was pissing me off...Funny thing I was leaving 2 secs infront of me....(SEE) and I couldnt avoid it, they just started making the left turns ouf of nowhere.

In order to ride without a helmet you have to be 21+ and have insurance but a cop CAN NOT stop you if he suspects you are under...thats all.

Helmet law or not, I will always ride with a helmet and still waiting on my boots, armor jacket, knee/shin guards, hard gloves, etc...

I ride without a helmet.. but then again i'm a cautious driver and always aware of my surroundings.

When i decide to hit 180 on the interstate i'll be sure to have my helmet on.

word. I'm not a fan of wearing full helmets. If I must I wear the half helmet. Helmet are optional in texas with proper paperwork. But then again, i've never ridden a crotch rocket and definately never felt the need to go faster than 80 mph.

Well, theyre only gonna fix it, If I sell it after that say 7K tops, what used car will I get for 7k? I paid the bike in cash (10k) and do not want ne loans because I might be joining the Military in a year or so.

Plus I love bikes, so If anything Im just gonna sell it and get the new R6 with the traction control when I come back

and probably newer stuff as it might be a while with the Military

With no disrespect due though, not you or anyone can ride at 180 mph down the highway and honestly control their own safety or that of others on the road, there's way to many variables out there. I've seen some very good riders become the victim of unusual circumstance and lose a lot more than a bike or money. I hope your return to the gym is quick. Peace

youll get 160-165mph out of an r6, tops.. Ive ridden many, 2 different 06's today actually.. My new 1000rr barely does 181, and its pushing alot more ponies than your bike.

I finished my docs apt and decided to go for a long ride, ended up being 4 hrs on i275.....I was speeding like crazy...I got 181mph for 6 secs....181mph.....all was good nothing happened..I get off i275 and down a road.....speed limit is 40...Im just at 37....the light is green.....I keep on going but this car takes a left and im like **** that was close...then split second...another car is behind that one......

there was nothing I could do, I hit the back/side.....my bike rolled off alot...I flew over like 6ft in the air....came down and rolled atleast 10 times........these secs were unreal......everything got silent and dark...it was very wierd...I stop moving....tens of people are stopping, gathering around....I look at the car and its missing like 30% of it...my bike is fvcked up for good and blood is gushing out of me....gushing out......I get up on my feet and look still not believing what happened.......I get up and everything is fine....no broken bones, no major injuries.....just tons of scrapes, deep cuts and funny thing....my helmet...got a tiny tiny scratch...not hit or anything......they take me in the ambulance and when I arrive theyre waiting and the guy looks at me and says this is the motorcycle accident...because the bike...the accident how it happened...im even surprised thats all I got.......the cop gave me her info and est damage is min 5000 I dont have insurance...... its 9000/year...atleast its her fault and Im going after her and getting the exact same bike again.

Right now everything is fvcked up, 1st I get into an accident 2 days after my bike, get bit by a spider and lose flesh from my arm...then this major accident.....whats next??

I started smoking, drinking again and popping vicodins.......Im not gonna let myself go...but this is alot of shit...all happened within 29days.....all that shit in 29days......

1st time in my life I feel sad although Im happy I didnt die I guess......Im still ok I guess....just shocked at this whole thing......but shit happens right??

Whoa! You bought your bike, and only 29 days later you were doing 181mph on a highway? What were you thinking? See what can happen when you are doing 37mph, imagine how bad it could be at 181mph.

That is incredibly immature and stupid to do on a public road. You are putting yourself, and others in danger. If you want to go that fast, go to a track. Keep it off the streets.

I've seen way too many fellow motcyclists in accident by doing dumb stuff like that.

If you get another bike, take it to a track. Do it safely, and join the MRA.

Not that it matters now, but State Farm does insure bikes, and they have the lowest rates gowing-I pay about $20/mo on my 06 GSXr 600. But you got to have your cars with them, they won't just do a bike for you.
