thats sad though... he was entertaining to watch, plus he seemed like a genuinly good person
to be honest, it surprises me that hed die like this after all the other animals that he had worked with, which were more dangerous than stingrays
RIP..My parents told me this today and it's too bad..
thats so sad i loved that show
Below was quoted by Steve Irwin.
"He tells his camera crew to always be filming. If he needs help, he will ask for it. Even if he is eaten by a shark or croc, the main thing he wants is that it be filmed. If he died, he would be sad if no one got it on tape."

This is a very sad story. However, you look back at what he did during his stay here on Earth and all you can recall is how great he was to mankind.
That is the kind of legacy that I was to leave behind me when I make my transition to heaven.
I feel sorry for his family...his 2 young daughters and his wife.
dam i thought it was a joke , but dam what a freak way to die. It was a good death I just hope his family wont hurt to much or to long , celebrate his life do not focus on his death
a great man, he did so much for conservation, both here and the world abroard. i wish the best for daughter bindi and son bob. he leaves behind a legacy that will not be forgotten in a long time.
fearless.

He did a lot of good things for conservation and such, BUT, what a dumbass! Eventually, if you fuk with the bull long enough, you're going to get the horns. The way he died in kind of ironic huh? I mean, what are the chances of getting stung in your heart by a stingray?
CRIKEY....look at the size of that hole in my heart! LOL
Why would you make fun of somone doing what they love?Originally Posted by Triple X

That's so sad. He brought so much attention to endangered animals, and educated so many. He really did care about the earth, and wanted to protect it, and educate people about it.
I will definately miss his show.
If anyone has read his reports, you will realise that most of what he did on TV was a show for the camera.
His antics and taglines were used for enetertaining purposes, and he was truely an intelegent person.
It's sad that we had to see him go, definately before his time.![]()
indeed this is all correct it was an act the guy was a very inteligent person i still cant get over it the stinger went right into his heart very unlikly to happenOriginally Posted by cfiler
R.I.P... Man that guy was awesome... I loved his ESPN commercial that he did and his show.
Embarsing's ass he was a very good man that did alot for his country his faimly and for the world when it came to teaching conservation.....
He died doing what he loved to do teaching people how to live in harmony with nature......
Embarassing is the fact that a few people in this thread could crack jokes about a great man that meant alot to many on the day of his death...
Steve Erwin R.I.P. and may god bless your family and help them thru the hard days ahead off them.....
Does anyone know what type of a stingray it was?
found this but cant find the type of stingray.
Very sad -- I feel Bad for his family.
Experts say that while painful, stingray venom is rarely lethal and it would have been the wound caused by the barb itself, which could measure up to 20cm long, which proved fatal.
"What happened to Steve Irwin is like being stabbed in the heart. It has little to do with the venom and all to do with the trauma caused by the barb of the stingray," Dr Geoff Isbister, a clinical toxicologist at the Mater Hospital in Newcastle, Australia, said
What the hell does winning an award have to do with how good a person he was??
I am sure there are many things that were presented to honor him, just cause he wasn't a Tabloid star, and wasnt' in the Paperazzi lime light doesn't mean he wasnt' a GREAT MAN and should get some respect here instead of made fun of ....
well bottom line..someone died and you are cracking jokes about it. Pretty shitty if you ask me
I scuba diving in Puerto Rico but like i said when you dive..."kill only time and don't touch anything "
Sad,very sad good guy, sorry for his wife and son.....good by Steve !!!
Where do you dive in PR? I'm coming down there soon.Originally Posted by LatinoPR

I dove the Cayman islands and swam at Stingray City, the stingrays there were incredibly tame to tourists and would literally eat out of our hands and let us pet them on top and their bellies
It is a shame this happened to such a renowned authority on animals
