To each his own I guess. I think the end product looks really good. Dont know that I would have the courage to go through that, I have two tatts and that was pain enough for me. Personally I think Branding is worse !!!

    True Story-
I have a scar that runs down the side of my face, from my eye to my jaw line. I was in Seattle Wa. a year or so ago and young lady approached me in a coffee shop and asked where I had my "mod" done, before I could answer she hiked up her skirt to show me some designs that were carved into her thighs and said they were done by so and so, she then asked again where I had mine done.
South Armagh, I answered. Do they have a web site? she asked....

Maybe i should have stoped chewing my oatmeal before i looked at that.

Crazy what people will do to be different. I have to admit the final product looked pretty damn good. Won't the body naturally try and replace that missing skin ?

Well in the pic's you notice a young lady drinking alcohol well her friend is doing the body mod. Now that leads me to believe they may not(as in the particular person/company) may not be using sterile techinique. I know when I had my tattoo's done they didn't even allow drinks in the room where it was being done. So I doubt this is some great shop, its everyones choice and I would never do it but if someone wants to I wish them the best of luck

Often times when things like this are done they are done for people who are friends or have become friends with the artists/studio owners the client has often been through alot of body mods, who are "ready" for such an undertaking. That being said it could have been an after hours deal where some people got together to check it out or it could have been a "get together" for like minded body mod individuals.

Either way I do agree with you about the "lax" setting. That is a huge wound and keeping it as clean as possible would be very important. With how hard that would hit your immune system the smallest thing could turn into a painful hospital trip a few days later.

Can you imagine the feeling of that though? it looks as if they only take out a few layers of skin if you have ever had road rash or skinned your knee etc and it sits and oozes for days/weeks and just plain sucks. I have been cut with a scalpel without any numbing/anesthetic and to me it felt like a paper cut but about three times the burning sensation. mine was about an inch long. Can you imagine the better part of your back?!

I have about 30 hours of tattoo work(half sleeve, chest, feet) but I can only guess how this would feel.

    Some INTENSE sh*t

I agree, I was friends with my tattoo artist his dad had done my dad and his son did mine my older sisters and my older brother. He will probably do my youngers sisters to. Still he was very intense on sterile precaution, and they seemed way to lax for my trusting. Yes your very right that is some intense sh*t

i havnt read all comments but incase no 1 has said yet. it is s spiritual thing and often a religious thing.. the skin carving

edit - i now open the link and see. but yeh some people are crazy but it originaly started from dedication to religion i beleive. but i dont see why to get one instead of a tattoo

    1. I think it might be a real tattoo but not a carving one.

Art? Get the f**k out of here.
Where the hell does society draw the line for "art".

Thats a disgraceful excuse for attention. If you want to feel artistic buy a f**king paint brush, art is not seeing how far you can possibly deviate from normalcy, thats rebellion, plus a few psychiatric disorders. Im gonna start a new "art" where we find people like that and throw them in a padded room with box cutters. Than we can find out how artistic they really are.

If you want to be creative do something productive with your time. The natural human body is perfect art in its own, not carving yourself like a thanksgiving turkey. Extreme or not its still screaming "look at me look at me, im different from you and that makes me feel special" ...freaks
