i promised myself years ago that i would never get into debt for christmass again. and i dont. im finished shopping by sept then ther is no worrys. as long as my kid is happy im happy.

i aint into religion so dont realy care for anything associated with christmass but i aint gona turn this into a political / religious discussion

ohhh how about christmas parties, the forced ones with people you do bussiness with or work for. my practice is associated with a law firm that refers me alot of patients, so i have to go to their christmas party , and it stinks. forced conversations, bad food, fake/obnoxious people, if it wasnt for the drinks , it would be a total nightmare

Christmas is simply a day set aside to observe Christ's birth.

If you fall victim to the advertising and marketing that has turned it into something else, if you buy into the crass commercialization, well, that's your problem.

If you're a Christian, say a prayer, maybe do a good deed. That should suffice. If you're not a Christian, then you don't really have to do anything.
If you beleive you have an obligation to go along with what the advertisers tell you, then shut up, buy your fair share of trinkets and baubles, endure your fair share of parties, and complain no more.

I hate not having enough money to buy the gifts I want for others. I keep seeing things, and say "that person would love that gift" but I can't offord to buy them it.

I HATE having to work throughout Christmas. I'll probably be working Christmas eve, Christmas day, and boxing day this year.

I wish that I could be spending those days with my family instead.

Atleast I don't have to spend time with my inlaws. I guess that's a plus.

I hate that nothing is open on Christmas Day besides the movie theaters. At around 3 o'clock I decide that I don't want to be cooped up in the house anymore and I want to go hang out with my friends and toss back a few, but nothing is open.

I also hate that I have to give up my bed when my relatives come to visit. I move to the couch for 5 days while my four-year-old cousin gets to sleep with a a featherbed and down comforter. Then I have to wait in the morning to get dressed until she wakes up because I'm not allowed in my room until she's done.

Perhaps I'll check into a hotel this year

Theres the flip side. The other day I had the ups guy deliver a package. He said Merry Christmas and God bless. I almost dropped a load in my pants. He doesnt even know he made my week.

My post lady gets a christmas gift.

My country is a major tourist destination.. so as such the government pushes a 'service-driven' economy.

Even so i find some people here go above and beyond just being polite and effcient.

My post lady is one of those.

When a pack lands for me and i'm not home she'll go around to the houses of those related to me and stuff trying to get in contact with me so it doesn't have to sit at the post office.

She greets us by name and shit... Merry christmas etc.

Even when i'm not epecting anything in the mail i hop up every morning at around the same time to greet her

I wish more people could be nice year-round.. as opposed to just at this one time per year.

Sorry man, but I have to disagree with you. You see, you allow marriage to suck because, and believe it or not, your wife has wants and desires just like you do. You will continue to think that marriage sucks until you begin honoring some of her desires. It's up to you.

I mean, c'mon. You're going to get the tree out eventually anyways. Make her happy and perform the duty at the same time.

My dad would put it on his huge stereo and blast Manahiem Steamrollers all christmas season long because he never really had Christmases as a child and it would somehow make him less depressed. It was probably one of the worst childhood memories I have of Christmas. Then the thing that pisses me off even more is singers and actor coming out with Christmas albums. I swear if I ever her Anne F^cking Murry sing Oh Holy Night again I may get enraged and massacre a few raindeer

i see what you are getting at dude but from my point of view, as soon as the tree is out, that is when it beginns. So i suppose the delay of putting the tree up is down to wanting to delay the whole thing as much as possible.

And as far as taking the tree down goes, i think we can all agree that once christmass has been and gone we are all ready to put the dam thing away
