Thread: Huge possible abcess, entire left gluteus maximus.

Thanks everyone, hopefully Ill get better soon.

They think I sat on a sewing pin. The injection was kinda ****ed up but I still am always sterile. I think I just went into a sore shot and the wrong area, trying to avoid the sensitive spot from a previous injection.

Actually, I wouldnt even consider that surgery. A family doc can do that right in his office, thats where I had it done. All they do is cut a small opening in the head of the abcess, the head is a spot that is soft and squishy feeling, with a scalpel and squeeze as hard as they can to get all the pus out, this hurts like hell. Yeah, and then pack it with gauze and hope it heals. In my case it didnt heal for over 6 weeks, yeah 6 weeks of repacking that hole with fresh gauze. I had to go for outpatient surgery and have the infected muscle cut out. They used local anesthesia and I felt little pain. They suture up the muscle to close the hole, and the skin as well. Then you walk around with stiched in your ass. I did go to the gym the very next day, and about 2 days latter I did fairly heavy squats and it never tore. Recovery was quite easy, but the entire experience was hell. I hope yours heals up.

I wouldnt be doing anything if you have a fever still. Do you have cellulitis? Thats where the skin is all red and kinda prickly looking with little bumps. Have to let your body use all its resources to fight that infection. My fever went away the very next day after taking the antibiotics, he also gave me 2 injections in the ass with some kind of antibiotic that he says was really strong.
After it was lanced and the fever was gone I figured it would heal, but I was wrong. Somehow the abcess remained deep down and finally had to be cut out, weird how I had no fever by then.

It may be too deep for a family doc to do apparently...

BTW, Do you really think that they believe you as far as sitting on a needle goes? Wouldn't they ask why its so high on your ass lol

It will eventually form a "head" when it comes up close to the skin. Eventually all of these will erupt to the surface, and thats when they can cut it open and drain it. Yours must not be that bad yet. How long has it been infected? 1 week? more?

  15. #55
yeah Bro, you need to go to the Doctor ASAP that is a pretty nasty temperature, good luck with the sewing needle bit. keep us posted and thanks for the info bro.

a week now I think. They said it may be too deep to come to a head on the surface though so I dunno....?

ouchies...how long have you been shooting your ass? and how much each time? so i know not to do this. what felt wrong about it going into it? and did you aspirate? because i think if you were to inject into an abcess wouldnt there be blood?

  19. #59
oh yeah i had a fever ove 103 once when i was little...and i was freaking out i remember my grandparents holding me down from kicking and screaming. it was bad.

Skull you might want to think about GH. I had a brown reculse spider
bite last summer. Swollen, yellow stuff draining out. It was horrible,
I just took antibiotics and my Saizen. It went away in 2 weeks. On
the follow up the nurse actually thought my Doctor was wrong about
the spider bite. I did not tell her about the GH.

I wish prop wasnt so damn painful. I fear something like this happening to me with all the frequent injections and the long last injection site pain that prop gives you. trying to shoot around them is not easy on a ed scheule

How long of a needle were you using? I always use a 1 inch. I would figure if yours was a 1 inch then they would be the same depth. It took over 2 weeks for mine to come toward the surface of the skin.

Well, that makes sense. 1/2 inch deeper then. I hope it clears up on its own so you dont have to go through what I did. Keep us posted. BTW, do you have any fever at all now or did the antibiotics clear that up? You develop the cellulitis?

well I have no fever that I am aware of, it seems to be getting better if anything. I still have a lot of pain there but I think the antibiotics may be helping. Thats all I can say right now.

I read this whole thing...Tough break. Something like this can happen to the best of us.

At least you are getting it taken care of. After a while you will be good as new.

I am also glad you didn't do anything stupid like injecting into the abcess and trying to drain it yourself.

    Peace,

I dunno, when I stick, aspirate, inject and remove quickly, it seems like I have less soreness. maybe its because it gives the needle lesss time to cause any minor damage by slight movements or something?

And thanks everyone, I am feeling even better today and the lump seems to be going down after taking these antibiotics.

Same thing happened to me skull.. wierd thing is that it was almost 1 month after my last shot.. my glut started swelling and i felt drowzy.. next thing i knew i fell asleep woke up shivering and there was a growth on my ass the size of a football... took my temp it was 103 and quickly drove myself to the ER.. this happend 2 days before my 21st birthday as well.. rough shit but anyways I took about a year off from injecting.. did some orals and am now back on injecting but much more cautious about cleansiness.. let us know how it goes
