For me making my suggestion about you not being a man is not as bad as it sounds. You probably are a good man, however, there are certain areas of life where we don't always act like men. I, for one, can honestly say that I don't always respond in ways that I'm called upon in order to be a man. Our initial instinct will always draw us to respond in selfish ways, which is not how real men do it. But that's just the nature of the beast.

It's not easy to hear something like, "You're not a real man." Nor do men like to be called ignorant, weak, insufficient, etc. Being ignorant is not bad, as it's just that you're not aware of a certain something or situation. In your given circumstance, I would think that a real man would say, "I know she's not willing or perfect in this area, but she's good enough to love me for who I am and I truly believe that with time, she'll be more open to some of my important desires."
