It is just that most of us come from a civilized Christian culture where it is forbidden to have sex with your sister/ brother/cousin etc.etc. so it is alien to us.There are many other cultures throughout the world where this is not forbidden.

in breeding increases homozygosity of alleles. so any bad genes, that your offspring have a fighting chance of not getting, well the offspring are more likely to get. in breeding has been shown to cause off spring to be less symetrical thus less attractive. ALl kinds of genetic disorders can arise. IN breeding, is just really not a good idea. humans have natural mechanisms that prevent in breeding, it is really a disadvantage to do so.

cultures that do inbreeding, again, most likely, i would bet 100 bucks, that thier is a higher occurance of funky diseases in that culture.
