nj is the state of new jersey. ny is a city in the state of ny. the city may have it's own gun laws. i have a home in nj and the weapons i bought here legally are now illegal. we were told to turn them in for pennies on the dollar. yea right. i took those weapons to my home in upstate ny. the laws in the state of ny are a little looser than the city. they are still not legal to own now in ny since i didnt buy them there. no one will ever question it up there. i do have pistols in nj legally but you are not allowed to carry them. you cant even carry them in the car.

The thing I truely deeply despise the most and makes me lose all my sympathy for the guy is one thing.

ALL HE HAD TO DO, was have the tiniest bit of common sense to put the SAFETY on.
Seriously, its cool if you need protection and wanna pack heat.
Its not even that bad if you don't have a permit/license or w/e.

But if you're walking into a club with a fvcking gun, and you're not a blood/crip or going there to kill someone. PUT THE FVCKING SAFETY ON.
This way even if the crap slips out you pick it up and noone needs to hear or see shit.

Well...this is good in theory...But, not all guns have safeties. For instance, any of the SIG series weapons. Also, revolvers do not have any safeties as well, the safety is supposed to be your finger on the trigger. It's really mind boggling to me how you can shoot yourself in the leg regardless of there being a safety in place or not. Lucky he didn't shoot his pecker off. It also sounds like he wasn't smart enough to have the weapon in a holster, which is bad for all sorts of reasons. Stupid decision all in all, so I'd agree with a charge like endangering the public welfare, or something to that effect, but would not agree with punishing him for choosing to have something on him to defend himself.

Unfortunately, in most states, you need to get "permission" from the state to be able to defend your life against criminals via a conceal&carry PERMIT. While it is unfortunate, those are the rules and we must all play by them. NYC is particularly infested with liberals who would like nothing more than to crucify a "rich" pro sports player.

Steroids made him do it. Thats prob the next headline...

    Glocks have no external safety.

The best safety is the one between your ears. He needed a good holster is what he needed, not just to stuff it in his waistband.

Just read that it was a Glock! Those things are crazy. In my opinion only when you are very well trained should you buy a Glock. It's definitely not a beginners gun IMHO.

On second thought he shouldn't never have had any gun. What a dumb ass.

The sweat pants amaze me more than the gun. Here in NY I have a better chance of getting into a club with a gun on me than a pair of sweats on.

i don't understand why if you have that much money you don't just hire a body guard?
