Hit the rev limiter at 186 on my R1 a couple years back and sold it shortly thereafter. I normally rode that sweet bike in the 100-150 range. The flashbacks once I got home were enough to make me give it up. I now only ride dirt bikes - KTM's! - 300xcw and 450sxf. If I ever get another street bike it will be either an Interceptor or an FZ1.

Dudes got balls. I've done 170 on my cbr but it was on a long stretch of backroad and no cars were around. Surprisingly the speed was still rising when I hit 170 fairly easily. Probably could've gotten to 180+ but I was running out of straight road.

I did it just to say I did it. I regularly hit 145-150 while on the highway.

iffy. i'd say for a bone stock 599 max 160 real speed. mines got an extra 37cc and is faar from stock.

yeah, my 929 blade only does 172, so id seriousily doubt a 600 would top 170 stock. i had a zx6r as my 1st bike, loved that bike, will prob go back to kawasaki some day

know what you mean mate, when your sitting thinking about it you come to the conclusion is shit hot dangerous, but when tht blacked out visor goes down and your on it you just push harder and harder, vicious circle lol

I have a friend with a cbr 600 who pulled 170 on it with just an exhaust. I've managed to pull 165 on my ex 05 r6 with k&n filter. I have an 06 gixxer now but haven't pushed it yet.
