and OP: sometimes ADD medication can help keep you "up" with energy and obviously more focus...and as far as an adrenal supplement..there are some OTC things which help a lot but I am not sure I can say them here....just search adrenal support..also...perhaps you need to balance your cortisol with a little Corfef or something....
there is a female member here who I am going to PM for you....she might get a real handle on this situation so hopefully she will chime in....I hope so because to feel this way must feel horrible!
Wow thanks, that's really kind of you! I will do some adrenal support searching for sure. It indeed feels horrible, Its like living a whole life with a deadly disease that never kills you, only tortures you. When (if) I get better, I will certainly pay this forward - probably create a detailed site/blog about how I struggled and tried different things to get rid of my sleepiness, how I met positive people on the net that helped me more than the doctors did.

    Regards

You should look into narcolepsy. It is not what most people think. I have it and until I understood how to manage it, it plagued my life.

For example, if I don't sleep before 10pm, I may not go to sleep for 3 days. That is an symptom most do not know about... Hypersomnia and hyperinsominia.

So you are saying there are many levels of narcolepsy? After the MSLT, the neurologist sent me back to the psychiatry 'cause the test didn't indicate narcolepsy (I had the same cell type as the majority of people with narcolepsy has though).

I wonder why I haven't gotten that chance to try CT scan. Have you also done MSLT and how did your results look like?

    First off doctors are idiots...lol...

Yes there are different types and levels of nacrolepsy. All have excessive daytime sleepiness. Additions are cataplexey (instant fall asleep and collapse), addition of hyperinsomnia, full body jerks and twitches (especially when trying to go to sleep), sleep paralysis, lucid dreaming, almost instant dreaming when you doze off... etc.. google it and check it out.

Adderall XR is the best choice if you do not want Nuvigil or Provigil (modafinil).

    I don't have cataplexy either.

With the excessive sleepiness, do you find that you can often lay down to take a nap only to get up 30mins or so later?

Nah, my nap often get stretched to 2-4h :P

Adderall is also extremely hard to get prescribed where I live (I read). I think Concerta/Ritalin/Metamina are the choices you get.
