and wtf is up with saying we weren't meant to eat meat? The appendix was for digesting raw foods and since fire was discovered by man..... and meat was being cooked..... evolution took over and rendered the appendix useless. Unless i've got my info wrong, which is possible, then we were meant to eat fvcking meat.

I'll say this.... idc if we were meant to eat meat or not..... i'd never give it up.

Could you imagine what kind of shit BBQ a vegan would throw? My stomach is turning in to a knot thinking about it.

If you are ever in Texas look me up. My uncle is a traveling rib cookoff contest guy and I use his 4 hr method to mouth watering perfection (or that is what they tell me). Also hear my spicy mango chicken fajitas are quite tasty. I will stick with my spinach, bean, avocado, broccoli salad with olive oil and ACV dressing and a sweet tater on the side...

If we weren't meant to eat mean God would not have put them on this earth for us.

And I was vegan for 5 years during a relationship. I was brain washed. The week after I started eating meat I felt better than I ever did. Processed tofu and peanut butter is not the healthy way to get protein

Man I agree with that! I have to bite my tongue over at the vegan body building forum. What a joke. Everyone is all soft and misinformed. Seems like most people who go vegan think it is a magical way to lose weight. I think it is actually harder. Eating meat makes hitting macros a breeze. As of late my mind has been filled with thoughts of "supplementing" my dinner with 8oz of smoked salmon...

Spirulina is the best protein in the world.Beats the hell out of beef. This is what an old vet called pinnacle said.

This video is fact.Plus saturated fats are bad news. Like what pinnacle advises, mega dose omega 3 is magic.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QWzkgWcrIw

    Food for thought.

Spirulina contains more than 60% vegetable protein, which is much higher than fish, pork, or beef (which contains about 15 ~20 %).Animal protein is a much bigger molecule than vegetable protein, and is much harder to for our system to digest.

Most modern people overindulge in animal protein, by eating fish, beef, pork etc. When too much animal protein is eaten, it is deposited in our body as fat. Too much fat will cause high cholesterol levels and may impact our heart and blood vessels.

Vegetable protein is water soluble, and is much smaller than animal protein. If you eat too much vegetable protein, it is simply discharged by your system as waste and not stored as fat.

I eat 10g spirulina and 10g chlorella each day. I eat it like you would BCAA's. It is the sodium that starts going up when you start gobbling handfuls like I am known to do...

thanks for that.Did not think of the sodium issue. So practically you could not have big does like 100 grams plus.

Apart from that I think hemp and pea isolate are the best for vegan for high does. Interesting .

Yup. She was soooooooooooooooooo hot but eating that way killed me. I got skinny fat. I was down to like 155 and probably 25% body fat thinking "this is healthy, I am vegan!". Not worth it in the end. But her butt was so amazing

Bumping this original 2011 thread.. the first year the wife and I started our vegan week. This marks our 4th year going vegan starting Valentines's Day. Hell of a time to start it being on PCT but its become tradition. We have a fridge full of tofu and veggies and friuts and beans. We're getting to be old pros at this now and are pretty good at making some hearty meals.. we kicked off the vegan ceremonies with a couple of strong bloody marys

    Wish me luck!

Im sorry igi i have to move you down a notch in my book mate. A tradition of a weeks worth of being vegan? I would rather a week in prison to be honest. I suppose you can eat a pho with no meat.

Use its as a cut. I'm going to fast in a few weeks. But I'm going to eat eggs, I think I have to for enough protein to keep my body going. Keep us updated, be fun to see how you feel. You should do a cleanse during it, I'm going to.

    Igi-

If I can make 1 suggestion, drop the Tofu brother. Soy is not very good for you. Especially if it is not organic.

Go with Quinoa, nuts, spinach, Beans, Hemp. For shakes, do Pea or Hemp powder. watch your Gluten intake.

Make soups, juice lots of carrots, beets, apples, ginger, celery. My wife made sum cabbage soup that is off the chain. Been eating it all week.

All that processed soy products, like tofu and tempeh, are just the lazy vegans. Processed food defeats the purpose.

im not vegan, but I do eat mostlly veggies and fruits and Quinoa.

I'm on PCT, and so I'm timed this poorly. Didn't want to cut for another 2-3 months, so I'm still going to try to keep the cals high so I don't lose more than I have to. Last year, I 'attempted' to clense and the sh*ts were too much and I stopped after 2-3 days.

Interesting. thanks JJ for the tips. We certainly do have a fair share of tofu, but also have lots of greens, nuts, fruits and quinoa. Looking forward to firing up the juicer a lot this week too. Thanks again I wasn't aware that tofu was not good for you; will definetely be reading up on the adverse effects.
