I've always been surprised at how they are still there now but just figured it was my American way of thinking. Traditions here mean nothing like they do in other countries. For an entire country to look up to one family like that blows my mind tho. Just because this kid was born into the family he's looked at like a god basically. That wouldn't fly over here... Too many haters lol.
^^^ we do it with celebrities and ball players...it is human nature in an odd sort of way.
who wants to watch the only people with money in the land rub it in the faces of their people
so let me make sure I get it right......they have no power what so ever when it comes to ruling the country and yet they are center of attention and poor ppl of england paying through their nose so they an live lavishly ???does any one else see something wrong in this?
let me ask you this...what purpose they serve?except being arrogant, snotty royal family?

I'm so tired of hearing about this wedding. There's so much going on in the world and the news is saturated with this shit. I thought we yanks fought a revolution to overthrow the British monarchy? So why are we so infatuated with it? And yes, it will cost the tax payers a fortune a time when UK "commoners" are being forced to pay more for education, housing and other services thanks to the bank bailout. It's all bloody bs!
And because most of the British public have no fvckin brains they will not realise any of what you've said, we are so fvcking stupid we deserve them...
You know if the government decided that 5000 people every week had to be executed so that their possessions could be sold to further fund our royal family, everyone over here would be like "never mind, has to be done", we are like lost fvckin sheep and we'd just let them do it.... How the fvck we ruled most of the world at some point is beyond me....
All I know is that the bride to be is absolutely gorgeous, a true 10/10. mein Gott this English princess.
***No source checks!!!***
people should riot against the fact that tax payer money is being; spent on this. what a joke, Since when is it fare they did not pay for all the tax payers weddings or even by each person a wedding gift. i mean i don't live there but what do they contribute to the country? besides rubbing it everyone's face that they are rich and you are poor.
£100 million is the cost being mentioned.
i wonder if she swallows or spits
i say she prbly swallows like a good girl..
what you guys think? spit or swallow?
first time i ever heard about it.
Seems like the queen should foot the bill. Read this:
How rich is Queen Elizabeth?
Her estimated personal fortune is around £350 million (US $525M).
The Duchy of Lancaster estate, a portfolio of land, property and
assets, is held in Trust for the Sovereign and worth around £348
million. She also owns properties privately that have never been
valued, including Sandringham House, Balmoral Castle reputedly
worth £160 million and the Castle of Mey. Her personal art collection
is worth at least £10 billion, and she owns personal jewellery
and a large stamp collection built up by her grandfather George
V. Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, the Crown Jewels and the
Royal Art Collection are held in trust for the nation. The Crown
Estate, the royal lands dating from 1066, are worth around £7.3
billion and generate £304 million (2008/9) in revenue a
year which is handed back to the Government as payment in return
for the £38.2 million per year (2009/10 down 7% from £41
million in 2008) cost of running the monarchy. This arrangement
dates from George III who gave up the right to the income in return
for the Civil List paid to members of the Royal Family. It has
been announced that this will be changed in 2013 to a Sovereign
Support Grant based on a percentage of the income from the Crown
Estate.

In honor of monty python, everyone ought to send them a can of spam for a wedding present.
becoming the same way in nearly every european country mate, particularily UK and IRL. i could see the 'going to sunday mass' thing dying on its head in ireland over the last 20yrs, if you'd of mentioned this 30-40 yrs ago you'd have been hung, drawn and quartered lol, now ireland (including rural) is an international melting point, you could walk down a dublin street and not bump into an irishman on an afternoon!
United States of Europe isnt too far away imo
On a positive note, suppose its better than the doom and gloom what normally the news push onto us.
Too bad I cannot attend... all guests must pass through drug test!
