He probably isn't. But, this is the internet, so I don't really care to prove he's full of shit.

I mean, let's say hypothetically he's really just some 18 year old virgin in his mother's basement and he succeeded in convincing every one of us that he's an army dude trying to bring home the bread to take care of his soon to be kid. What does that really matter? We're just on the internet and the reality is he's still in his mother's basement. It's sad that he's living a make-believe life online then, but he's not the first to and wont be the last. Hopefully, by the time he reaches his 30's, he'll stop giving a shit about trying to impress people (especially strangers on the internet) by lying about himself.

dude dont let them get ya down. i went through basic last cycle of Harmony Church. those who ehere there say it was the toughest at the time. others will argue Sand Hill was the Toughest.

i alway say when asked what i did int he army my answer is always the same "It doesnt matter what i did, what matters is i did it" .same applies to you "It doesnt matter how you serve, what matters is that you did".

Be proud and dont listen to the BS that one MOS is harder than the other or the Army is easy these days. It the commitment that counts and if it was easy more people would serve.

First ArmyKid93, I whole heartedly apologize for discrediting you and for making false accusations about your service. Guess your allowed phones @ reception now. What happened to OPSEC, PERSEC, Policies. Seems the Big Army is relaxing these days.

Anyway ArmyKid enjoy BCT and again I apologize.

Now this is what I'd like to see more of on here. People apologising when they are in the wrong. It keeps things more pleasant and helps do away with hostile feelings. I've even been known to apologise when I've been wrong or ticked someone off. Not always but most of the time.

Bro I'd take down your platoon/location/MOS to protect your anonymity. Last thing you want/need is for someone to be able to identify you on here.. Especially the military.

Howd you guys get uniforms before even going through basic?

I went to basic in Chicago and we started getting our asses kicked at the airport when we landed in our street cloths. When we went through we had to walk around nude with our personal sh!t in a bag until they gave us sweats and shaved all of our heads. I didn't even get fitted for uniforms until like week 3 or something.

All my communication was through mail pen and paper, i didn't get a phone call or nothin the whole time going through. I thought the army was tougher then the other branches to? Guess i was wrong. The only awesome part is the end, the feeling that you made it and look back on what you accomplished.

Lol at army basic .... Only army training I respect is ranger school. Even then it's no usmc force recon. From what Iv heard and seen from soldiers is that basic doesnt prepare you fully for combat .... I think the army should start taking after us Marines.

I think the primary point of basic is the break down and build up and learning discipline. Depending on your rate/job you would attend C/A school after graduating basic where you would learn to shoot and combat skills. If it was preparing you for being in a combat zone then it would be much longer then 8 weeks, which i believe is the length for army bootcamp now? Marines i think is 12 weeks.

Anyone in the military should be combat ready. I don't care if it's a chef, someone in the band or a military lawyer. I think the army is the easy way out for people who can't do the Marines. There really is no comparison. Most people I know who went in the army they did it to pay for school or to look like a hardass without having to do anything too hard. Being combat ready not only helps you in the shit but it'll help you with everything else too. Keeps you in check

They "should" be but like you said, marines are probably only ones that are always ready to rock. We had a handful of Marines on my ship during all the deployments. I was only a second class and those guys would make me feel like an admiral, very respectful and disciplined i think all the branches should be like that.

We had a Seal Team aboard for a while to and those guys just walked around like they're shit didn't stink, which is obviously understandable. Our CO was to afraid to tell them to abide by all the rules we had to so he had a private meeting with there commander and the commander told him to kiss his ass. These guys would walk around the messdecks with flip flops and t shirts on and if it wasn't meal hours they would just walk in the kitchen and cook shit.

Isn't the Marines' motto "never leave your buddy's behind?"

Yeah... Seals. From a civilian point of view you'd probably think they'd deserve to act like that for the shit they have to do, but from a military point of view they should be the ones with the most discipline

SEALS are by far not the best, or most trained Professionals in the Military. US Airforce Combat Controllers in my professional opinion are the most diversly trained within the Special Operations Community. They can do it all.

LOL...........that's funny, when was the last time a 10 man team of "US Airforce Combat Controllers" single handedly over powered / killed & took control of an entire enemy compound? You're comparing two completely different ends of the spectrum, combat control & actual combat. And what exactly is it that you think the S.E.A.L. teams don't do?

Horseshit!!! My son in law has done 3 tours in the sandbox and he just assured me those ragheads use the same bullets to kill Army grunts as they do the Marines, some of you guys talk like your head is up your ass, some of you have a chip on your shoulder towards "other" branches of the military, I would think you would show more respect for your brothers........semper fi indeed.

Anyways, Armykid, stay low, blend in, do what you're supposed to do, be in the right uniform at the right time and have everything u need with you at all times. Enjoy the dumb 2qt. canteen F*** those. At AIT I actually had to piss in a 1qt. plastic one a couple times in the trucks during convoy. hahaha beware!

oops, didn't realize this started in February. Anyways, congrats on graduation!
