So I'm at the gym, usually 10min warm up with headphones on...then I'm ready, but always have an alternate plan in case there is some putz or yahoo working in the area or with the equipment I need. Today was back and bicepts..I always stretch before hand post warm up. So I'm doing pull ups(on the assit machine/with no resistance) because its right next to the back extention thingy, I rotate/no stop, 5 sets....It's obvious I'm working that machine , after 1 set of each I go to jump on and do another set of pull ups and there is a girl that works there(snob) with like an 8yr old and a 12 yr old? and they r all over the machine like a jungle gym...just talking away, not even doing anything? Is it necessary for me to say excuse me can I get a set in ever friggin time? k so I move to the squat rack, throw a 45lb bench bar on the top and do my pull ups there, look over and there is some putz just in the back extension thing sitting there? Fine I can incorporate another exercise in its place.so i finish and start dead lifts and bicept curls ( alternating) music is up and I'm rotating back and forth, but monitoring my heart rate. So there are ppl loitering around the mirrors and I glance over and they r kinda staring at me, by now I'm breathing heavy, heart rate about 140( just from lifting) sweating...getting into my groove...so I turn my triangle dead lift bar toward the wall so I can concentrate and turn the music up....finally done, I finish with 20 min jogging on the tread mill...same ppl lotering around the back staring in the mirrors..I'm done and out....see ya

That's one reason I work out at a shitty little gyn on campus that is open 24/7 so I dont have to deal with people very often. Most gyms are a social club and not place to work out.
I also go to 24 hour; mostly because they have locations all over the place, which is kind of where I'm at too.
At my home location, they have a new female trainer that has a spare tire big enough to fit the back of my vette! What I can't understand is that I go in there and I see clients training with her. She's the example of what happens to you when you let it all go, yet people pay $$ to get her teaching them how to get their health on track! Don't get it. To their credit though, they have a few trainers that are the real deal and practice what they preach.
I go to 24 also, and that chic you mentioned with the huge spare tire works at my gym too (she must be very popular). Unfortunately, there might be one real trainer there as far as i can telll. I was watching him do clean and jerks and the boy really had some decent form. Not much weight, 90 lbs and a bar, but decent form.
I'm thinking there could be a competition coming up? these two ladies at the gym are really cut (membbers) and really seem to be going all out now. they either have their headphones in or working with their BF/Husb so haven't had a chance to ask, but damn! looking real good!!

Id get sick if I took vitamins while working out. I cant eat anything except water 1hr before or I get sick.
i eat a meal, then two hours later another meal which is about an hour prior, then 30 minutes prior a double scoop protein shake. Protein/simple carb shake during and another after. anything else and i'm wiped out the rest of the day (not enough intake)
it's funny. with all these meals i eat all the time, if i don't eat constant, i get the shakes, bbut my stomach doesn't hold much anymore

This is what my brother heard.
Guy 1- "that guy is huge. I'm wanting to get something like that, just not as big."
Guy 2- "yeah, he is pretty big. I don't want to get that big. It's all fake muscle anyways. He uses creatine and protein, so his muscles are just water. That's why I'm doing it natural."
Guy 1- "yeah, that's why I'm not using creatine or protein either."
So, moral of the story is. Creatine and protein give you fake big muscles. Lol.

Ripped, u just reminded me of what a woman told me a long time ago. She works for a doctor and said that creatine is bad for your heart. I usually go to a Gold's right outside of Baltimore and it's okay if you go at the right time, but holy hell does it get crowded from 4-7pm and if I have to go during that time I get so annoyed with people. The only time I ever said anything to someone though is a time when all the benches were being used, and this one dude was taking like 5 minute breaks between sets.. I already saw two people come up to him and ask if they could work in or how many sets he had left and he said, 'i just got started' and then told the other dude he 'had a few more'. So I got sick of watching the tool sit there like it was break time, I got pissed and walked up and said, 'hey, are you using the bench?' He said, 'ya', I said, 'Then use it, cause I'm waiting for it'. haha..
I'm going to have to figure something out, my gym is open 24-hr(not named 24-hr) andm well I work during the day so i go after work, I try to get there as soon as I can so Its not busy. When my head phs are in and I finally get going after 20 min.....ppl are in my way, and stop staring at me and do your own workout! Sorry(no) if I'm the only one who's shirt is drenched and I'm breathing heavy and doing cross training and not standing around just talking shit about oher ppl
I wake up at 5am already? mayby get up at? 3:30 go workout, weights, then stop back by after work for just cardio?
Yeah, timing is everything. 4-7 P.M. it's almost impossible to stay in your own little bubble. If I can go late morning or early afternoon though it's usually fine.

I went to my gym at 7:30. . . There was no parking, period. I just left.

Oh yeah, almost forgot. Last time I was at the gym, the monster going to squat 500Lbs forgets that he unloaded all the weight from one side of the bar. I just look back to see weights drop and the 45Lb Bar flying around. . . Yes, really. . . . I can't even make this shit up.
oh shit. funny story that happened to me the other day.
I come up to the cable pulley pull down machine, check the weight, 100lbs, so decided to do warm ups. stand up to grab the bar, pull down to get the weigght going so i can get in the sitting position, and then fall on my asss. evidently, when i looked and saw 100lbs, it was just the pin coiil hanging low, and the pin was actually in the top plate, so no resistance when i pulled down. so here i am on the ground people looking at me, so all i say is if you thought that was funny, you should see me after i've had a few drinks. (no one laughed, but oh well)
yea or just let him blow u...lol....better yet walk right next to him and rip a fart, then belch...maybe he will lose interest.

Right now its a 24hr(not called 24hr) gym with all new equipment, nice (5) private bathrooms with showers, and a large room fully equipped for mma or boxing traing....only 35 a month...Very pleased with it. I worked out at all kinds, started in hole in the walls joints, the kind where the door has to be open because it reeks. Kind of a eccentric question?
