Just got my FT43 and TSH labs back. TSH: 7.55, FT4: 0.62. Still waiting on FT3. I suspect it will be low also. Doctor wanted to put me on synthroid but I told him I wanted armour and he had no problem with that. Another step to getting better.

So started on the armour thyroid today. Alternating days with a 60mg dose and a 30 mg dose. He wanted to start me on .75 grains. Does this seem a bit low to start on or about right?

They typically start you low... It sucks I know but yes I am confident he will move you up. I am on 3 grains a day

As tboney stated; it's a standard start up protocol for many reasons...one not to "shock" the system.

Keep us posted on how you feel and ongoing developments, this could be a nice learning thread for a lot of existing and new members.

    Thanks man.

Thanks guys. I will keep this updated.

About how long will I need to take this dose before it will stabilize and I can get blood tests? I am also taking Lugol's iodine at 21.7 mgs/day. Is this still ok?

You need to check with your doc on the iodine.. There are certain thyroid conditions where its a no no??? I am not knowledgeable enough to say on that issue.

With t4 hormone they usually move you up about every four to six weeks. Wth armour its less, at least in my case, then that due to the fact that your body responds more quickly because it does not have to go through the process of converting t4 to t3 which is the more active of the two.

The only thing I can think of where it might be a no-no would be hyperthyroid. But honestly, I don't know and will run it by the doc.

You could well be right. I would just check with him.

Now off on another tangent. Got a script for cialis. Will take about a week or so to come in. Also ordered some pt-141 and am looking forward to the experience.
