I think the Ak-47 has such baggage because it can be an automatic weapon and do lots of damage. A hunting rifle will typically be a semi and same with shotguns and handguns.

Yes it is. CA is the most strict, AFAICT.

Look CCPs. Not gonna happen here in CA.

    I own and collect guns. I hunt with a Custom 6.8spc AR15.
    I have my CPL .
I have also never committed a crime never been to jail. Grown up in a rather big city .

I think it all has to do in how you were raised. I was raised to respect guns. Treat others how I'd want to be treated. Protect my family ( at all costs )

Your commits about rednecks owning guns is a perfect example media perception.

There are far more gun crimes in the city then in the country where the rednecks live. But you seem to believe the rednecks have the problem with guns. When its quite the opposite . The rednecks are just the ones who are vocal about it because they own their guns legally and committed no crime.

Next you want be able to have a car that does over 70mph because more people die at speeds in excess of 70mph.

Or eat a steak because a baby choked on a steak in another state.

yes because of ridiculous arguments like that is why "rednecks" or the vocals get called out more.
Yes there are more deaths in the city. Completely agree.
There are laws that dont let you drive over 70. there are reasons you can only go 25 on certain streets with a car.
you cant walk into a move theater and stab and kill 20+ people in less then a minute.
You can stab someone from 25+ feet away.
If you look at FACTS. which i know sometimes hurt. You have more of a chance of dieing from a gun if there are legal guns in the house then from getting killed by some criminal with one.
If people can't tell your on steroids then your doing them wrong

But you can go and buy some diesel and fertilizer and kill a whole lot more than 25 in a lot less than 2 seconds. Lets ban those shall we?

Hog hunting = fun. I've only done it twice and didn't get anything. But I got a couple of rounds off. My bud told me to use my S&W 44mag. Fun stuff.

I understand your debate and the way you see things . But try to put yourself in the shoes of someones who owns guns legally and has never committed a crime. Then your told because of other irresponsible behavior that you'll lose your rights to own some of your guns?

And this goes hand and hand with the car statement. No ones needs a 800hp car but its your right to build/ own one. Even though that powerful of a car or ones similar to it have been involved in tragic accidents . That's doesn't mean all high HP cars should be outlawed.

I respect your opinion and stance on this subject but in turn I also respectfully disagree.

Its kind of a pot calling the kettle black. To see this argument on a steroid forum.
Seeing how most of us use an illegal substance that when used the right way can be perfectly save. But its the irresponsible ones that give this substance a bad rep.

I don't think we have a gun problem so much as we have societal problems. Poverty plays a big part in our crime issues and our diversity is a blessing and a curse. Other countries with less violence benefit from having a homogenous populace. Similar (or same) backgrounds, history, morals, ethics, religions, traditions and goals.

I made it halfway through the article and then laughed at the incompetence of the author, Gix, you lose credibility when you post political articles that were written by left wing anti constitution nut jobs. Try this..... follow that logic from start to finish and see where you end up. All these liberal fools quote the redneck in the crowd and then badmouth the constitution..... all of them use the same untruthful tactics, it serves to show the intelligent population just how immature and idiotic they really are.

Besides Gix don't you live in an area with draconian gun control laws already? How's that working? Why don't you just enjoy living in your paradise and leave the rest of us alone with our guns and constitution.

Sorry Gix, I was thinking you were east coast for some reason. It seems like the media has a knack for finding the stupidest person in town to do an interview with or ask an opinion of ...... fvcktard media whores are one of this countries biggest detriments to our freedom. Besides the 2nd amendment protecting us from libtards..... it's what Jesus would do.....

    2%.
Thats the % of legally registered gun owner that committed a crime in the state of texas.
Over half a million legally registered gun owners - 120 commuted crimes.

Florida has issues over 1.5 concealed carry permits. They have only had to revoke 166 due to crimes committed by those with said permits (note not all of those rimes were even committed using a gun!)

It goes on and own. The owner of a concealed carry permit is 100 times less likely to commit a crime of any kind that the rest of the general population.

What are you going to do ...regulate more strictly - so the people going about it leagally cannot obtain guns, Thats a great idea - then we can end up helpless against the scumbags that are buying the guns smuggled in from china / the middle east / and even to this day russia/ Those are the guns the crimes are being committed with. Stop that you solve thee majority of your problem. Regulate more strictly and then only the criminals will be able to get/have guns- Fvcking great!

I think I remember something called the second ammendment. Fortunately none of my guns or ammo are registered and I will be damned if I will ever let the soccer mom driven testicleless libtards take them from me.

PS don't get me started or I will tell you how I really feel ;-)

PS Just saw Odens others post on the second ammedment. I agree this is the purpose of the ammendment to protect us from the occupationalist libtard government, unfortunatly the spirit of the ammendment has been dead for ages as trying to defend yourself from any branch of gov with even an assualt rifle will be fruitless but at least it will give them pause for consideration. Once they strip us of our current guns then all they got to do is go house to house and lockup whoever they choose for whatever law they have rewritten last week.

Yeah but if you are from NY its the right of the police to search you on a whim called furtive behaviour and being black seems to qualify as furtive behaviour...see the slippery slope we are on. Well at least we are getting all those dangerous black marijuana smokers off the street,,,,,,,SAD!!!

New York is one of the states with the least civil rights. You literally need to be a victim to be right in the eyes of the law. Getting gun permits are ridiculously hard too. They cost about 600-700 for rifle/shotgun and about 1,000 for handgun and that's just for the application and you can get denied. At least on Long Island once you hit 18 you can buy a shotgun or rifle, still 21 till handgun and a pain to get one.

First let me say I'm very pro gun and without writing a novel I'm for every reason under the sun. We could argue about this all day but its easier if I cite someone I look up to:

    Suzanna Hupp, (from wikipedia)

On Wednesday, October 16, 1991, Hupp and her parents were having lunch at the Luby's Cafeteria in Killeen. She had left her gun in her car to comply with Texas state law at the time, which prohibited carrying a concealed weapon.[citation needed] When George Hennard drove his truck into the cafeteria and opened fire on the patrons, Hupp instinctively reached into her purse for her weapon, but it was in her vehicle. Her father, Al Gratia, tried to rush Hennard and was shot in the chest. As the gunman reloaded, Hupp escaped through a broken window and believed that her mother, Ursula Gratia, was behind her. Hennard put a gun to her mother's head as she cradled her mortally wounded husband, and pulled the trigger, killing her as well.

Hupp's mother and father were killed along with twenty-one other persons. Hennard also wounded some twenty others. As a survivor of the Luby's massacre, Hupp testified across the country in support of concealed-handgun laws. She said that if there had been a second chance to prevent the slaughter, she would have violated the Texas law and carried the handgun inside her purse into the restaurant.

This is one of the most important videos I have ever come across explaining the 2nd amendment:

That's out dated. Accidental death by prescribed prescription drugs (not even abused or no prescribed) has overtaken motor vehicle accidents.

Yes to follow the logic of the writer. If guns are dangerous and must be outlawed then well autos kill people as well. Then we have falling in bath tubs, so no more tubs allowed. Knives kill people so no more knives, and on and on it goes. Bad people are going to kill regardless and there is no way we can remove every object that could be used to kill with. Some moron has an infected pimple on his butt again and unfortunately was elected to an office where someone actually listens to the fool. We need to remember him and vote the idiot out next election. Problem solved..

If it makes anybody feel better, I own everything from .17hmr up to 50bmg. I have a Dragunov AK, and four ar-15's one of which is chambered in .458 socom.(hog gun)
I am an avid outdoorsman and have a weapons platform for every type of animal that I would like to eat.

I would not refer to even the lowest lifeform on this planet as a "redneck".

If I were threatened and felt the need to defend myself or react offensively: my first choice would be my hands, my second choice would be a ball bat.

The second amendment is part of a document that is not easily molested. There will be no overnight descision to remove firearms from owners.
