I bought the pistol today because the price will be going up due to government talks on banning and supply and demand.
On Friday after the shooting 100,000 magazines for different types of firearms were sold by a distributor here. They are out. Demand is over supply.When the assault rifle ban happend a rifle cost $400-500 Before the ban went into effect the price jumped to $1500-2000.. I have more guns than I will ever need, but not for the concealed carry. So I got it while I could afford it.

I'm really not casting aspersions on any individual mate, as I said, it's a mindset I really can't begin to understand. Maybe I need to stay out threads involving firearms!?!?

The disappointing fact here is you didn't consult with me before purchasing said firearm. Hey everyone knows where I stand on this. So in case you don't I will tell you.

I wear everyday and hope I am never faced with that kind of decision. If I am I will try my damnedest to get my family and myself home safe. And there is the rub. Most people are not like axx. They are the trouble makers. But why should they be the only ones with the gun. When only a criminal has the firearm we are all fvcked. More trained armed citizens and this shit would come to a stop in a damn hurry. Not vigilantes, trained responsible citizens. If i was the guy that walked into the movie theater and opened fire, I would think twice knowing several of those people might fight back with equal deadly force, I may just may change my mind.

I went with the .40 because if I gotta pull my gun out; someone's dying. I have no need to pull my gun out unless some 9/11 type shit happens, or someone is in my house that shouldn't be.

With the frequency of these violent and deadly shooting I have decided to take certain actions. I have my conceal carry firearm permit. Today I purchased a Glock 27 subcompact for concealed carry. This pistol will compliment my Glock 23. Being that the 23 magizine will fit the 27.So I can go from side arm to backup with no issue. I have also purchased a Galco ankle holster with a boot expander. I will be carrying everyday from here on out. I do not want myself or family to be a victim. I have a lot of firearms training and I am qualified with a pistol. The prices on firearms is about to skyrocket so if you have been waiting you better do it soon. I have never been in a shooting situation, I do not know how I will react when the time comes. But I do know I want to have a fighting chance. Or, if I can save someone else, I want the ability to try. Thank you.

In the past week alone, there was the Connecticut shooting, a shooting at an Oregon mall, a murder-suicide in a Vegas Casino, the gunman running through the CSUF campus and then this past Friday, some idiot standing in the parking lot of a Newport Beach shopping mall decided to fire off numerous rounds. Fortunately no one was hurt in the NPB mall incident, but damn, every week now it seems like some crazy bastard is shooting people!!!!

I've got a very good home security system but I'm starting to wonder if that's enough. All doors and windows are armed and there are multiple cameras and motion sensors throughout the property but if someone wants in bad enough, that won't stop them.

I've been told a shot gun would make a better home defense weapon than a hand gun, especially if I have no plans to carry.

Avoid 9 mm....look at video from the Dade County FBI shootout and the LA bank shootout. 9mm is about my last choice

All joking aside.....I appreciate the feedback and helpful input. I really am gun illiterate. I've fired a few assault riffles when I was younger at one of the military bases in Canada where a friend's father worked, but outside of that, I have zero gun knowledge.

I'm going to apply for a permit and then go to a local range and get some safety and usage training. I've spent my life helping and saving people so owning a gun is somewhat in opposition to my education and beliefs, but, I am growing sick and tired of the shit heads out there who have little or no respect for life and I don't want me or my family to be a casualty to that ignorance and disregard for life.

Shotguns are okay for home defense but they are kinda limited outside the home. Yea.. you can spray someone in your house (don't forget you are spraying your house too) but nothing beats having a good pistol and KNOWING HOW TO USE IT.

I have my .40 in a GunVault to prevent my kids from ever getting their hands on it. I can reach under my bed and open the safe in the dark. I'm no sharp shooter but I've spent enough time at the range and the 180 gr hallow points will do their job if I'm "close enough".

No it won't. The Taurus Judge will accept 45ling colt and .410

The Smith and Wesson Governor will accept, .410 buck/bird , 45 long colt and 45acp with the moon clip provided by manufacturer.

We tested the Governor and it ate everything we put through it. It also comes with a front night sight. The Governor patterned better with the Remington Home Defense buckshot load. The Winchester Home Defense round did well but didn't pattern great. But hey if you get in the general direction who cares about a pattern, we aren't talking about turkey heads here.
