Obama has made it very clear that he would not get involved in Iraq again, he's more or less washed his hands of that one...

If the US was to cut aid including military aid to israel they wouldn't last a week, just about every country in that region would be out for their blood and i certainly wouldn't want to see that... However they don't help themselves and in Europe this week theres been huge demonstration against israel .

In 2012 a truce was called, israel promised to the Palestinians and the world that if there was a period of quiet then boarder restrictions would be lifted, yet again the israelis lied, after the required period of time the israelis refused to lift the blockade. The UN condemned the israelis, the rest of the world said it was wrong but did nothing. So with nothing else but their rockets Hamas continued their struggle for freedom.....

It's a man made construct as we've debated endlessly between 405 and myself. It was ordered by the Emporer Constantine, and is a compilation of a variety of scripture, both Christian and "pagan" intended to unite the empire during a period of strife. He assembled the Niciam Council in the third century AD and the end result is the first consolidated bible. The King James is just one of many revisions. Many scriptures were left out. Some of the infamous that were available back then were the Gospals of Judas, Jesus' most trusted disciple, and even the Gospel according to Mary.

Again, this has been discussed extensively. What I don't want to get involved with is bible thumping and direct quoting from this version of the bible.

there are too many religious zealots that try to claim the accuracy of the bible by attempting to authenticate religious prophesy by looking at modern events that have recently occurred.

then all we are talking about is a history book, which is fine. But it's accuracy is questionable. Many strongly believe Mary Magdelan was not only Jesus companion, but also the mother of his child. Not much is discussed about this, and nothing in the bible. So if Jesus had a decendent, then what? And why is Judas portrayed so terribly in the bible, when really Jesus asked him to do what he did (sell him out to the Romans) so that Jesus could fulfill his own prophesy. It's no coincidence he gave himself up on a Friday. It was the last day to be crucified prior to being taken down the next day, which gave him the greatest chance of surviving the crucification, except for one small thing. The Roman soldier (what's his name again?) that took his spear and stabbed Jesus in the side, which eventually killed him. That is why his prophesy of his "resurrection" went unfulfilled (remember? his resurrection was supposed to be seen by the masses?), except for three individuals that claim to have seen him arise. That's a pretty big mistake. So Jesus actually dies, and they haul off his body instead of reincarnation.

From a historical perspective, I find this whole matter fascinating. But from a biblical perspective, it is fraught with contradiction between the gospels and elsewhere. And as a factually based document, well, there is human error all throughout. It was never really fact checked for consistency, or at least not very well.

And then we get to King James (his version of the bible is very common) and he decides to do a rewrite so he can do as he pleases. He rewrites the bible, and claims a new branch off Christianity called Protest-antism.

And then the book of Mormon and the Calvanists.

Accuracy is NOT a word I would use to describe the Bible with.

I am on the side of Israel and everyone should be as well IMO. I can say that if you have been in the middle east you don't really understand what this is all about. They are the only democracy in the middle east. If you see what all the other countries around Israel do to their people, especially woman, I think you would be shocked. Not something the the media like to report on.

I have kept quiet on this subject but OMG so many people are misinformed or just stupid on this subject. And there are a few people that just either misinformed on the facts or anti-Semitic. Compare the US and Israel. Both countries have the same values and the respect for human life and the pursuit of living in a free society. The difference is that Israel is surrounding by all sides by people that want to eliminate them from the face of the earth. These same people that want to eliminate Israel also want to destroy the US as well. Do not be fooled here, this is their goal. How do you think the US would react if people around the US boarder were firing rockets at US cities?

Thats the problem BG, your just like i was 20 years ago. I was 100% for israel and didn't like to hear from anyone pro Palestinian because i believe the view i formed was the truth. It was only when someone told me to first look at the situation from both sides before forming a standpoint and not just be brain washed by one side....
