I have had 5 boxers in my life and all were perfect pets and wonderful gaurd dogs. With a boxer you get the best of both worlds with no worries of the hurting the neighbor hood kids.

My vote is for the pit as well. Extremely loyal, very gentle, very protective, especially of children. Plus just the look of a pit is enough deterrent for most would be crooks.

Rottweilers make for very good guarddogs.... but tend to be a very stubborn breed.................

get a pitbull, amstaff or staffordshire terrier, the most powerful dog for its size, loyal, loving and protective.

I've looked at the pittbulls but everyone seems to tell me that they are a 1 person dog. I guess most don't get along with otherdogs. Looks like I'm gonna have to suck it up and get a rott and a shepard...
