wonderin... you said you have competed in strong man.. how did you do? I was going to do one when I was 20... but I found out there was no weight divisions.. they used a math formula that took into account your weight to determine the winner.. so I was 335lbs at the time.. so i didn't bother.. figured some 150lber would win.. a guy 175 who benced 330 won.. even tho there was 300 lb guys benching 400+lbs

I've taken first place in a few smaller comps, i plan to get into the bigger scene now. The one bigger comp i did, i didn't qualify, i injured knee with the stones. No bench press comp though...

I doubt anyone could qualify for a strongman comp with apparatus (logs, rocks etc) unless you acutally train with them all the time..

I am doing school in a town thats the home of "the highland games".. first place they offically held them in north america.. might try this summer.

I would have qualified if i didnt injure myself. It was very hard though, never used stones before, i talked with some of the guys and i blow them away bench/squat/dead, but i couldn't keep up with them on stuff like the stones. Highland games are fun.

ya see I know I would do deccent in a weight lifting comp.. i'd have to train lower reps, but I think I would do OK... no way could I ever keep up with those guys who soley train for strongman.. it would take alot of sheer mass/power to walk in and do well with those guys..

highland games is a gong show here.. I started working at the bar here a month before the games, which are a week long drinking fest mixed with a few events and qualifying rounds during the day....

one of the main guys who dose highland games came into the bar when i was working one night.. I was 6'1" ish and 290lbs.. he was about 6'4" and well over 330 (i'd guess) probably about 350-360.. monster.. but his conditioning didnt impress me in the least.. big man tho..
