It came stock with a 3.42 so not a huge difference really. Even with 410's I think I would still have got ok milage. If I had the A4 then there would have been a much bigger knock on mpg.

And hp, nothing cool or fun about a 500+hp car with an A4 either, don't care how high of a stall someone throws in there.

my boy had a 3,800 stall with a 2.2 STR (I think it was a 2.2) in his nitro built 408 Heads T-rex cam 98 Camaro. Thing was quite the beast.

Don't quote me on this - but I believe he ran a 7.2 in the 1/8th. It's been a while since we went to the track - he has since sold the car as well.
Thing was ugly as sin too - had about 4 different shades of red hah

I feel the same way, but a lot of the strict drag only guys have this saying:
"Manual transmissions impress high-schoolers, automatics win races."

I tend to think if your good then it shouldnt really matter plus on the streets a manual transmission is more fun to drive IMO. But that is an age old debate on the car boards.

That would have been a pretty nasty ass ride automatic or manual trans. I have see a lot of f-bodies with that combo run low tens to high nines and still go out and cruise after a few passes down the track....LOL

If you're really a guru with the m6 and you got an iron disc for a clutch I'm sure you can do equal to the A4 in a drag. Also I love driving stick, in traffic having to do non stop clutching can be a bitch but I managed.

And to comment on your quote, what high schoolers these days know how to drive stick? lol

All those pro classes run Auto's of some sort. Like the 6.0 class is nothing but power glides.

They are just more consistent. With that said Manuals are just so much more fun.

i just bot a 1987 buick regal grand national gnx clone, waiting on getting it imported. it's clean as cheerleader ass and fast fast fast. i LOVE hearing about honda guys and what not (no dig, they can be fun but are too small for me) saying 400hp at the wheel and looking at the back of a gn the whole way.

is that picture you posted (OP) OF YOUR ENGINE?
coz that is not of a gst or gsx.
those share the evo platform of 4g63. ThAT engine is the 420a which is non turbo but has high compression.
ON the plus side at least your not prone to CRANKWALK.
Good effort in having a different ride though.
