It happened with the men and will go on until they are 100% full mixed martial arts. These girls are just the first batch, many much better will come. Shes the Chuck Liddell of womens UFC, thinking she will retire as champ, hahaha.
Exactly! I immediately went to Tito Ortiz! That guy was champ and defended several times, then the sport blew up and he was out matched in about every single thing he did.

after chuck beat him up he was never the same. Seen many fighters like that. After chuck got beat by rampage he was done. Sylva beating franklin, Ortiz beating shamerock etc. sometimes it just happens.

So true. And to be honest, that is why it is an absolutely CRITICAL time in her career. She was untouchable, she was the champ, and the face of MMA, not just ladies....the entire sport and she did get destroyed.

Very interesting if she CAN come back, not how she does it, but if it even happens.

Another aspect of Ronda coming back is whether or not she will be able to take a punch. Some fighters can take a punch for years, then they get KO'd ONCE and they become a glass jaw (see also: Chuck Liddell). Having all of the heart in the world is useless if you can't stay conscious.

^ I don't know if she can come back. Holly would have to make a HUGE mistake and get on the ground. Holly showed that she can't be taken down as easily as the other broads Ronda fought. In fact, she took Ronda down, which was a first in Ronda's career.

Ronda is going to need a kickboxing trainer for the next 3 years to be able to go up against all that experience Holly has. That, and she needs to find her inner calm self. She was fighting with a lot of heart, but zero brains.

Unlike most people on earth who instantly bailed on Ronda, I'm still a fan and I know she will do more great things. This is a reality check that Judo combined with street-brawling-style fighting is not going to cut it anymore. Not to mention, every broad she beat in the past, figured out her weaknesses from this fight. She was predictable before, but now the negative is also predictable.

Right. I'm not saying that she as a fighter will not be able to fight, but in the circumstances of coming back from a HUGE loss AND her tactics needed to adapt, it will be interesting to say the least. And that's not that she won't be at the top for a while, its just that elusive "elite" "untouchable" level may have just moved beyond her.

So true. I still love to watch her showcase her skills. She can do it, but the changes are do or die now.

In retrospect now, it seems she was maintaining her abilities instead of improving them, now she is no longer afforded that opportunity.

I'd like to ask a question: what about Holly Holm?!

    I mean, that was destructive.

exactly if she can come back and win then that would be a huge momentum change and set up a trilogy. We are gonna have to wait and see. The rematch will be a huge fight

We love Ronda because she defended her title as if she was fighting for a title shot -- she doesn't merely protect her belt; she fights to finish you.

Straight up. Her fight was brilliant because 1) she did what no one thought could be done, and 2) she made it look easy and obvious, like anyone could do it.

If Rhoda had got Holms back in the first round it would have been a different fight. She only got one leg in and slid over top.

I watched a great video analyzing the fight and how Holm avoided Rousey's takedown and armbar. It wasn't authorized by the UFC, so it's already been yanked but, basically, Ronda frquently uses headlock hip tosses. What Holm did differntly from RR's other opponents is, when she was in the headlock, she didn't wrap her inside arm around Rousey; she kept the arm between them and created some space. Also she Holm dropped her hip lower than Rousey's, neutralizing (and reversing) her hip toss.
