    Being a proud white American

I was born a white American in the 1950’s. And, I’m proud to be white & take great pride in it. If it would be cool to wear a white pride t-shirt I gladly would, seriously.

I love The UNITED States of America and have the flag and statue proudly inked on my forearms. Incidentally as a proud Christian, I have the sacred heart and the Virgin Mary inked onto my arms as well.

If I could, I would join an association that deals with national pride.

However I can’t wear that shirt and I can’t join groups like that and it’s for reasons like these knuckleheads. They involve hate. They try to raise their stature by lowering others.

6 Million Weren’t Enough? Camp Auschwitz? This is who Trump loves? This POS is a bum & a disgrace to our country.

And I hope that they find and hang all of the idiots that defiled and desecrated our Nation’s Capital, starting with these two clowns.

Why do ppl say that Pres. Trump is such a bad guy?

I will admit he is lacking in presidential skills, but he didn't have so much bad press until he became President... WTF...

I can imagine, due to the severance of intelligent staff members such as Rex Tillerson and Ret. General Mattis, that he a SOB to work for, but I don't see where he has done such a good or a bad job...

You Europeans (FK, etc) should pay more attention to your own nation's politics, and not mind ours.

    Now, back to the thread.

A nut with homicidal tendencies such as myself doesn't have free access in Europe to a gun that can shoot something that will very likely kill someone.

Even for a lead pellet gun I need a Firearms Certificate, which means the police come out to my home for tea and crumpets to try get a feel for me.

As some of you may know...

I kinda dislike the whole supremacy thing.

I have my theories of why it exists.

    Life is hard you know...
So much easier for the weak to cling to an ideology that "empowers" them...
So much safer for the weak to huddle together... there is strength in numbers... and being weak they crave strength.
So much easier for the weak to blame others for their failings... you know... the weak could actually accomplish something if the "enemy" wasn't holding them down.

But that's the funny thing about it...
The weak claim to be superior but also claim they are being overpowered by the inferior.
How the fuck does that even make sense?
By definition if you are superior you shouldn't be able to be overpowered by the inferior.
Especially when the inferior is in the minority.

    or...

They can just be fucked in the head.
You know... bad genetics... God short changed them... inbreeding...
Or just a serious mental defect.

Please note the above doesn't cover the religious supremacy topic... (like the Crusades, all Muslims should die, Jews have horns, Jihads, that type of shit...)
Once religion is involved shit can get silly. (Not bad mouthing Religion. By far most religious people are good folk with very similar moral beliefs.)

    So yeah...

I believe that America shouldn't condone 6MWE assholes.

All men are created equal is what I was taught in school, in church, and at home.

Or as Jesus would say... Do onto others and you would have them do onto you.

That’s the thing DD. White “supremacy”. Why?

If I were to wear a white pride shirt & I encounter someone with a black pride shirt or brown or red or yellow pride, we shake hands & we sit down and exchange our pride in our heritage. Why the need to belittle or denigrate? Oh, you want to have a gathering/parade for your people, go for it.

If you want to stand up for what the UNITED states of America was intended to represent, then do so. And do so in a legal and peaceful manner that reflects pride upon the country and what it is meant to represent; not shame. Obviously still pissed, sorry for the vent. Oh, Donnie is back stepping and covering his ass? F-you Donnie.

A child can show up at an art expo and proudly put their drawing on display and enjoy watching people walk by their artwork and stop to take a look, maybe also go over and talk to the person if they stop to look for more than 30 seconds.

That's not the same as a child showing up at an art expo and walking around with their drawing showing everyone saying 'Mine's the best', and pointing at all the other kids' drawings saying 'That one's shit', 'That other one is a load of shit too', 'All the drawers here are incompetent degenerates, and I'm the one with talent'.

Even the most humble people have pride. When I lived in a Hare Krishna temple I met some very humble gurus, but nonetheless I detected that they were proud to be a Hare Krishna.

I knwo what you're saying Prox in your original post, however I do also know that some white people would interpret you wrongly (well an Irish or British person might).

It's unfortunate that lots of white people enslaved lots of black people, and it's unfortunate that prisons are very predominantly black, which adds to people taking 'white pride' the wrong way.

Maybe make a new word, 'Caucapride' -- a portmanteau of 'causcasian' and 'pride' -- but still people might misconstrue your morals.

Y’all do know you/we are all foreigners on this land, right?!

Aside from the mighty Indian - the ones still left alive

It doesn’t matter how many generations we go back - it’s kinda what makes US “special”

Boy, the times from “give me your poor and needy” sure have changed - of course people took advantage & so on

I have been all over the world & almost every corner of the US - The US is still the land of the free - but, a lot of things have changed. Some for better, some - not so much

To be honest - I’m amazed “we’re” doing this well so far

Samson, depending on which anthropologist you want to believe; even the "Indians" (Indian = A term, which to the best of historical knowledge is a gross misnomer, coined by he "great sailor and navigator" Columbus, who happened to be basically lost when he stumbled upon the Caribbean Islands... Fortunately for him, because his boats, one of which broke apart while moored, would never had made the journey to India) are even immigrants...

    According to science...
We are all descendants from dark skinned Africans.

    According to religion...
    There are many different beliefs.
According to the Jewish and Christian faith we are all descendants from massive inbreeding of Adam and Eve and then further massive inbreeding from Noah's family.

There are so many religions with many different beliefs...
I have come to believe in science.

So I find in funny that white supremacists claim to love their white heritage when really deep down within they are African.

A terrifying fact about human nature is that...
My dog doesn't care what color fur another dog has but...
Some people can't see past skin tone.

In bold above. Depends on your take of the creation of Adam in the Genesis 1 vs "the man Adam" in Genesis 2.

Won't start that discussion today, but have several Orthodox and Reformed Jewish friends that share my same beliefs....that all the races were created on the sixth day in Genesis 1, God rested, and the Adam of Genesis 2 was created on the 8th day. Many, many, lively discussions.

As far as pride in myself because of skin color, not me. I take pride in trying to treat other people respectfully/ helping others, taking care of my wife, and in doing my best to do a good job.

DD, the last paragraph I typed was for the thread in general, not in response to you, buddy. I'm in a rush getting things together before getting ready for work.
There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...

Being proud of having been born in a specific country to specific parents? The fuck? It’s like being proud of winning once at a casino. It’s just goofy and makes precisely no sense to me.

These two posts sums it up for me. I always found the fixation on skin color bizarre. Having just left the country where whiteness is revered (India) and treatments to be white is very common I hope one day this is no longer an issue whatsoever.

Science, such as it is only an understanding and study of nature, clearly demonstrates that no two organisms on earth are equal to each other.

Therefore, equality in the scientific sense is a lie. It's not possible. Nature and genetic variation has made this so.

So why do you say, you believe in science, but also say you believe in equality? Once again you contradict yourself.

Equality is a human idea, just like religion, and it has no basis in science. No example in nature can be found for it's existence. Not from single called organisms, nor bears, wolves, elephants.....or men. It's a religious human idea. With a political motive. Not scientific at all.

All men are created equal doesn't mean all men are 6' and 200lbs.

All men are created equal in rights.

    Nice try though.

    So I ask you...

Do you believe that all men are created equal? (I mean equal in rights by the way...)

I've known for some time now that I am a lesbian trapped in a man's body, but just today watching this video I realise that I'm actually a black lesbian trapped in a man's body.

Tribalism breeds racism, bigotry, etc. We are all victim to it in some way, whether we are talking about fans of sports teams, political ideologies, religion... and skin color/race.

We are innately cautious and suspicious of other tribes because this behavior has served to protect us from violence and disease over thousands of years. In the last .00001% of our time on this Earth as humans, we have begun integrating people from all cultures and races. We can't expect everyone to fall in line and go along with it easily.

In densely populated, multicultural cities, you tend to have less racism because the population is too varied to naturally form a tribe mentality. Like with a phobia, repeated exposure to the trigger without negative consequences diminishes the threat. As people are continuously exposed to other cultures and races, in person and in real situations, they become accustomed and accepting of other cultures and races.

In less multicultural areas, the only exposure people have to other cultures and races tends to be through the media. What is shown in media is often negative or extreme because that is what sells. Sensationalism will always sell over rationalism. Because of this artificial exposure to other cultures and races, the tendency toward tribalism grows as a defense mechanism inscribed in our DNA over thousands of years.

It's easy to think that we are all free thinkers with free will. We laugh at the behaviors of our pets or animals on TV, but sometimes fail to realize our more subtle instinctual behaviors and thought processes. To add to this, even in multicultural settings racism will not disappear completely. The way we have evolved different physical characteristics, we have also evolved different behaviors, attitudes, etc. Our innate tendencies dictate we be fearful & even hostile toward the unknown and what we don't understand. There are a lot of variables playing and this cultural experiment called the United States is revealing a lot about humankind. That's just my half-baked theory.

For clarity, when I say white pride, I am not saying white power. I am not saying white supremacy. I am also not saying that being white is without faults.

When I say the same about national pride, it’s the same as above.

Actually, I / we can control the course of our nation & our actions in this country, thus I personally take pride in being a citizen and take pride in my actions as a white citizen.

Secondly, the country does achieve and to the point of being proud of those achievements.

Is see no stupidity in either.

Your being white places absolutely no predication upon your actions, nor does the place where you currently reside (outside of obvious things like state use of force being used for different things in different places). Or rather, it shouldn’t. If you only do X, Y or Z because “I’m a white American”, that’s another whole level of psychological twisting that I don’t even care to go down the rabbit hole on.
Keep in mind, I’m coming at this from the angle of complete emotional detachment from all such trappings, and only look at things as rational and tangible or not. Things like “pride” and “muh feels” mean precisely nothing to me as abstracts. When they produce results, those things become tangible. Until then, they’re just useless posturing.
As we’ve all seen, there are plenty of shitty white (and other) Americans (and others) out there. Just seems like a really fucking weird banner to me, to hang anything on.

I tend to agree with Gallow’s view on this especially regarding pride on skin color alone. It’s like everyone got dealt a poker hand and they’re proud of the suit of their cards. Maybe I’m taking it too literally and “x pride” is about being rooted in culture? I feel no pride the roulette wheel landed on white. I wonder, in 1000 years when everyone is the same color if we’ll have to switch to eye color pride.

Shit, considering my interests and the fairly cool stuff we’re constantly learning about genomics, I’d have probably ended up a much better strength athlete if my roulette wheel had’ve landed on black or yellow instead of “big headed ass Irish”.

I love being foreign to this country(so is my wife) - most folk who go generations back, have no idea what their freedom means

It’s been handed to them for generations - we see how well they treat it

Doesn’t mean all - just most

Exactly. People out here are outraged like we live in Bolivia. When I see some of these protests and bs I just think "what's the issue?" Beyond people's jealousy and hatred toward one another, we have some of the best opportunities in the world.

That's just wrong. If all the employees entered through a different access than the general public uses, it's one thing.

Singling someone out for skin color, disability, etc. is just flat out discrimination and it's sickening.

Yes of course, and that is a disgusting shame. And you saw that shame reflected in the actions of those white Americans this week. I believe the Proud Boys were there, thus some of these white Americans have shown pride in their position and actions & were in fact supported by the President himself.

My stance is that as a white American, I can get away with stuff based upon my whiteness. I have witnessed this in two professions that one would easily consider as being color blind. I am proud to have acted and continue to act properly and justly to everyone, despite the fact that I could get away with not doing so, by the color of my skin. Of that, I am proud. Regarding my pride in my country, I won’t bother to defend our values and principles.

I am in total agreement with everyone that we should not see others based upon the color of their skin and am proud to be a member of a forum that abides by ideals such as that.

    BG, please clarify...

I am confused, because as we all know, sometimes establishments require employees to enter through a certain point.

I’ll ask him exactly what was said come, but as I remember he wanted to go in and look in the building when it was done and they told him that Mr. Trump didn’t want Negroes or blacks to be seen in the building. Not 100% sure I’ll ask him when I see him this weekend.

It doesnt matter how good looking she is, some where, some one is tired of her shit.

Light travels faster then sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

    WOW...!!!

    BG, that's harsh.

If it is true, it wouldn't necessarily surprise me, either way.

As a Trump voter / supporter, I must admit that I am losing faith in him as a President...

I guess, voters like myself who were searching for somebody "different" to occupy the position of POTUS; well, we got what we were wishing for.

That was the crux of the issue, but it was all in his rhetoric. If we look at all of the policy actually passed during this presidency, it was absolutely no different than what we saw during the Obama/W/Clinton administrations.
It’s exactly the same shit that happened with Obama’s first term when he was in AND had the majority of both houses of Congress. The only thing that “changed” was the PPACA getting rammed through, which was nothing more than a gift package to the insurance companies who had been fucking the whole game up for decades to begin with.
The more things change and all of that. It’s to the point where your vote is just predicated upon what flavor of bullshit you want to be fed as the cattle car keeps rolling down the same track.

It’s telling that in this pivotal period in American history that the President hasn’t addressed the nation.

Kinda hard having faith in a president who doesn’t act presidential.

You ain’t lived till it was -70 (with wind chill). But yeah, age tends to make the colder temps hurt a bit more.

Hit 120 out here this summer. Outdoor gyms for me. Handled 110 in the late morning, felt ok.

If I had to choose though, I’ll take the heat, joints move easier.
