This board was fine before AND is one of the better boards around. Bringing something as pitiful as 'TITLES' to the attention of everyone and saying it needs to be changed has done no good for this board.
Already we see the board seperating in two, those for and against the changes suggested.
Seperation isn't good. Especially on a board where everyone is good with eachother.

and that means it will be whatever we (meaning the mods and jason) think it should be with the input of our wonderfull members...
Now what on earth is all this fuss about- people gettting too pissy about nothing at all. Thats why I never took the post count thing away before because I know that people who have built up titles really like that they have them and it does give them a sense of pride - and if someone spends that much time on AR - why not have some recognition for that? As to knowlege, etc - that is what the Vet title is for to recognise people who know thier stuff - not all post that much even, especially those from other boards.
Now the karma idea might be a good way to further recognise peoples contributions but of course who is to say it wouldnt start getting abused as well - but if it does, I can just lop off "quivering mountains" of karma just as easily.
Maybe I will just change the names - "senior" denotes knowlege perhaps so we could have names based upon activity like "active" or something that denotes nothing specific like "Nathan's tutu member".
Main thing is - all of you calm the heck down and give some decent suggestions so we can make some decent decisions.

CYCLEON. Great post. You are like the rope that pulls the two rifts together. Finally a SUPER mod who understands the pride thing with titles and all that. I also agree with the senior member showing importance.
Maybe the solution is like you said to just add a few more member titles. 1,500, 2,500 or 3,500.

The only downside I see to titles is that if someone has a supreme title some of the new members automatically take their advice to be true.
In terms of suggestions about the titles..I know that "member reccommended" options are available at other boards; but I don't think it would be approriate here. If there could be a way to track the number of posts read that could be interesting..although people would abuse that so that probably isn't a good idea.
The bottom line is that titles are objective. One member can look at titles as a source of pride and another couldn't care less. I, for one, judge people on what they post and not what their title says.
If we remove member titles, than that would drastically reduce spam. However, it would also make many members unhappy and make others not want to post as much. So I think it really comes down to whether or not the server is having trouble with amounts of posts.
I really cannot think of any other suggestions that would benefit this board. Just my thoughts.

I suggest that we just leave well enough alone.......Personally I wanted my own customized title....so I whored it up.(Big Deal).....But I never flame anybody...I try to be courteous to the other members and I try to treat people like I want to be treated... I dont have a wealth of knowledge about AAS..and thats why im here. But I think I have tried to help other members in other aspects in their life...Sometimes people just need somebody to talk to about other problems.....I'm fortunate enough to run my own business from home...so I have a luxury of being on here quite a few hours a day. I have no quarrels with anybody on this forum and I really enjoy being here day in and day out. I Just think that all this talk about titles and post whoring got a little blown out of proportion..........

Can someone explain what the whole Karma thing is? And the Lesane or something, I have never heard of this before or how it works.
I don't get why you MODS don't test something!? There have been tons of ideas presented, but bottom line, this is something the VETS/MODS should decide on their own. Maybe have a meeting or something.
But why can't you just test it?! Add the Karma thing, try that for a month or two, maybe add more titles, maybe increase the amount of posts you need to get a title. You could even make it so that people have to apply for a member change, who knows. Bottom line, can't you ALWAYS just go BACK to the way things were? So why not just test it? Something, anything. Take the BEST ideas, mark them 1 through wutever, and start testing them one by one, and people can tell you which ones are working best.

Advice is advice...Most of the people that post on this board do not know each other. Folks should keep that in perspective. Despite a 'title" that is driven by how many times a person stokes a keyboard, who really knows if they guy on the other end is a jackass...or some banned ass-monkey coming back under another screen name. I ask a crap load of questions, and get just as many great responses, from folks that know their stuff, but I still know to do some further research. There are many newbies, not new to the game..alot of senior members that have never cycled, or properly cycled...do not know the first thing about nutrition, blah blah...Take the title for what it is worth.

I have read all I want to about this........everyone has made a point.
Things go good until someone has a problem with someone posting in the lounge and not posting in the roids forum.........I for one don't post much in the roids forum but I do read alot of stuff in there to educate myself....so does that make me useless to the roids forum.......NO!!!... It just means that I think since I don't have much experience about AAS that instead of taking the chance of giving out bad advice, I will just read and learn....plus alot of post in the roids forum would not even be asked if some people would just take time to research and read alittle(that's a whole different thread).
I can see where some want a custom title since they fill they spend their time on the board.......a custom title doesn't mean the MODS see fit to make that person a VET.......I def agree that vet status should be determined by how knowlegdable a person is about gear and workingout.
I for one will continue to post in the lounge as I always have......if Jason or the MODS think that it is a useless thread/post and they fill it should be deleted then that's fine....it doesn't mean I gonna stop posting with my bros on here.
To me AR has become a part of my life style........just like workingout, diet, recovery, etc.
And while we're on the topic of post....Do PM's go toward post count?...just wondering.
