Top 30 on Octane right now. Don't agree with volbeats seal the deal at #15. Should have done much better in the countdown imo.. solid song this year and one of the best.

The I'm listening to today Metal edition Thread

Woo! Just listened to Empress Rising by Monolord. Never heard of them before now. Very stoner and heavy. I think AG would like them as well.

    Thanks DCI!

Solid musicianship. Michael Poulsen has been providing the soundtrack for my daily life for about 4 years now.

Really love their music as well. Every song tells a story, and you can be getting anything from heavy, metal influenced riffs or a johnny cash like melody and baseline.

Both of my kids are pretty musically diverse, but I'm so thrilled that my younger daughter is starting to lean toward hard rock and metal now more than ever. Every time we get in the car she turns it on as opposed to her other genre preferences. And for the first time i'm hearing her playing rock and metal by herself when she's in her room which, I don't know why I'm so happy about it, but I am LOL. She likes more modern melodic bands like In Flames, Through Fire, I Prevail, and Bullet for my Valentine, Bring me the Horizon, etc., but she can also jam out to harder and older stuff too. Proud papa

Every once in a while I really like volbeat - "Seal the Deal" is one of them.

Very cool about your kids. Don't have any myself, but compare bands with my students. Amazing, I have harder tastes than 99% of them.

Wow. Is that the massage therapist that walks on your back? I've had Trouble on my i-pod for as long as I can recall, heard them in the 90's ("Scuse me" & "Memories Garden").

No, but actually isn't too far off. Same build, similar facial features, but the massage therapist has her hair cut slightly shorter right now. I go see her again in a couple of weeks. Hope she has let her hair grow longer.

Oh sh*t, my bad, I'd intended to reply to "Stuck Mojo". Stuck Mojo reminded me of biohazard. And thanks for the Pro Pain.

The Damned Things? Scott Ian's side project I think right? With the guy from Fall Out Boy and Every Time I Die. Pretty good stuff.

Pretty sure you are correct, Igi.I've run across a couple of their songs and need to check out more of their tunes. LOL, Ian is like the dude from Meshuggah, Jens Kidman, I believe...unmistakeable face.

Korn (Shoots & Ladders) got me through a heavy set during back a bit ago. Heard Stuck Mojo on Liquid Metal today - sounded great through the car's sound system!

Always liked watching Doyle beat the sh*t out of his guitar. It was almost 35 years ago that these two and Doyle's brother Jerry (The Misfits) got me into hardcore.

Missed Meshuggah a few weeks ago. They played on a Sunday and had to bring the kid back to school.
