damn this thread is 9 months old. anyway.. i wouldnt carry anything smaller than a 9mm for personal protection and i only carry glocks. point and shoot simple as that.
Ummm Yah....back on track. I've owned a Glock 23 .40 for about 4 years now and I have never had a problem with it. I think I have about 1000 rounds threw it with out 1 single jam. IMO the .40 is the perfect caliber...9mm is too small. I had a cheezy star .45 compact before the glock and it sucked, I couldnt hit the back of a barn with it.

i think the .40 ideally is the prefect round however the 9mm has less kick allowing you to stay more on target during rapid fire situations. So i chose 9mm cause my thinking is 16 9mm rounds grouped a couple inches apart in your chest is better than 8-10 .40 caliber spread out. granted if you hit someone ceneter mass with 2 .40 cal they should go down.
