I'm a Fantasic Four, X-Men and Black Panther fan. This is fuckin' bad ass!!!



Marvel Comics today released a teaser image by artist Michael Turner and asked the question "Is this the new FF?".

The art features the Thing, Human Torch, Black Panther and Storm, and is hotly rumoured to be the Fantastic Four's new line-up come Fantastic Four #544 by writer Dwayne McDuffie and artist Paul Pelletier.

In the aftermath of Civil War comes Reconstruction, the beginning of a stunning new era! Rocked to its foundations by the events of the past several months, Reed and Sue plan a hiatus from the team to work out there marital problems, leaving Ben and Johnny to hold down the fort. But they won't be doing it alone, as two new members join the team - and you won't believe who they are!

Early life and background

The Black Panther is the ceremonial title given to the chief of the Panther Tribe of the fictional African nation of Wakanda. In addition to ruling the country, he is also chief of its various tribes (collectively referred to as the Wakandas). The Panther uniform is a symbol of office and is used even during diplomatic missions.

The Black Panther is entitled to the use of a heart-shaped herb that grants the person who consumes it enhanced strength, agility, and perception. The present-day bearer of the Black Panther mantle is T'Challa, who has had a lengthy career as a superhero, including a longstanding membership in The Avengers. For a brief time upon joining the superhero team the Avengers (in The Avengers #52-55, May-Aug. 1968), the Black Panther wore a cowled half-mask, similar to that of Batman. In stories published in the 2000s, it came to light that the Panther originally joined the Avengers with the intention of spying on them. This drove a temporary wedge between T'Challa and his teammates.

T'Challa is the son of T'Chaka, who was the Black Panther before him. In the distant past, a massive meteorite comprised of the sound-absorbing mineral vibranium crashed in Wakanda, and was unearthed a generation before the events of the present day. Knowing that others would attempt to manipulate and dominate Wakanda for this rare and valuable resource, T'Chaka concealed his country from the outside world. He would sell off minute amounts of the valuable vibranium while surreptitiously sending the country's best scholars to study abroad, consequently turning Wakanda into one of the world's most technologically advanced nations. Eventually, however, the explorer Ulysses Klaw found his way to Wakanda to covertly create a vibranium-powered, sound-based weapon. When exposed, Klaw killed T'Chaka and other Wakandans, only to see his "sound blaster" turned on him by a grieving T'Challa, then barely a teenager. Klaw's right hand was destroyed, and he and his men fled. In a retcon, T'Challa during his youth met and fell in love with apparent orphaned child Ororo Munroe, who would grow up to become the X-Men member Storm; the two broke up over T'Challa's need to avenge his father's death.

T'Challa earned the title and attributes of the Black Panther by defeating the various champions of the Wakandan tribes. One of his first acts was to disband and exile the Hatut Zeraze — the Wakandan secret police — and its leader, his adopted brother Hunter the White Wolf; later, to keep the peace, he picked "dora milaje" ("adored ones") from rival tribes to serve as his personal guard and ceremonial wives-in-training. He then studied abroad before returning to his kingship. To prove himself worthy as the defender of his people, T'Challa attacked the Fantastic Four and defeated them in individual combat before revealing his reasons.

Black Panther Powers and abilities

The title "Black Panther" is a rank of office, chieftain of the Wakandan Panther Clan. As chieftain, the Panther is entitled to eat a special heart-shaped herb that grants him enhanced senses: hearing, smell, taste, agility, speed, balance and night vision. Like Wolverine, he can pick up a prey's scent and memorize tens of thousands of individual ones. Beyond his enhanced senses, the Panther is an above-olympian level athlete and is considered to be at nearly peak human physical condition (the equal of Captain America). T'Challa is a rigorously trained gymnast and acrobat, proficient in various African martial arts as well as contemporary ones. He is a skilled hunter, tracker and scientist — he has a Ph.D. in physics from Oxford University.

As king of Wakanda, the Panther has access to a vast collection of magical artifacts, technological and military hardware, as well as the support of his nation's wide array of scientists, adventurers, and superheroes.

In Volume 3, writer Christopher Priest expanded the Panther's day-to-day arsenal to include equipment such as an "energy dagger", a vibranium-weave suit, and a portable supercomputer, the "Kimoyo card." In Volume 4, writer Reginald Hudlin introduced such specialized equipment as "thrice-blessed armor" and "light armor" for specific tasks.

Marriage

In 2006, he helps Ororo Munroe (the X-Men-member Storm), with whom he had a brief romance during his teens, reunite with her surviving family members in Africa and the U.S. He shortly afterward proposes, and the two are married in a large Wakandan ceremony attended by many superheroes. They are currently on a World Tour, meeting with other known royalties such as Doctor Doom, Namor, and the Inhumans. Solicitations from Marvel have confirmed that The Black Panther and Storm will choose a side in the Civil War, and place their support behind Captain America and the Secret Avengers sometime in January.

Hulk has been sent to a diffrent planet by the Illuminati a team consisting of ironman, reed richards, black bolt, Prof X, and namor they were concerned about his recent rampage in vegas tghat killed a bunch of people and wanted to send him to a peaceful planet until they could cure him but the controls were meesed up and wound up on a hostile planet and now hes preparing to come back and not alone from what I hear to get some revenge. Oh and they tricked him into space in the first place so hes a little pissed

Have you been reading Planet Hulk? I haven't been buying it but I've read it. I really like it. I plan to pick up when it comes out as a trade.

It's actually very good. I didn't buy the first few issues and started reading it later. So I'm going to wait for a trade versus buying half of it.

I read mine then I bag and box them. I box them up to save space. Right now I have comics and boxes all over my bed room. I have to find a places to store them.

Hmm, so if Magneto has lost his powers (again), there is no more Nate Gray and Franklin Richards lost his powers resurecting Galactus and Apocalypse is a captive of the Celestials, who is the most powerful mutant on earth now?

I hope they give Magnus his powers back, he is hands down one of the most interesting characters in marvel history. Tragic characters always intrigue me the most.

Labor will do a better job explaining it than me. The New Warriors a team of B-list heroes fight a group of villains including Nitro and Nitro blows himself up. The fight was in a residential neighborhood right next to an elementary school an 100s of the kids die when Nitro explodes. So there is a backlash against heroes and the government decides that all heros/vigilanties have to register giving real name and secret identity and be monitored by the government. If you refused to register you're automatically arrested and incarcerated with no trial. Iron Man is for registration and Captain America is against it. Since Captain America refused to register Shield attacks and tries to arrest him. Captain America goes underground and starts a registration resistance movement made up of other heroes on the run from the government. Mr. Fantastic of the Fantastic 4 is for registration, his wife Sue the Invisible woman is against it. She ends up leaving him because of it.

There is A LOT more going on. Labor can you give him more details?

You see things started to get real bad for Heros when the Avengers decided to officially call it quits because of the Scarlet witch and her reality altering powers. She cause all kinds of hell in one day causeing the deaths of Ant-Man, Hawkeye and Vision. Around that time even Thor died or as Asguardians call it a "nap". Shortly after this the House of M took place where b/c of Scarlet Witch and her brothers, Quicksilver influence changed the entire worlds reality causing eveyone to have diffrent lives some heros were villians some had kids and were married and so on. (the story behind this was the Avengers didn't know what to do with Scarletts powers she was unableto control them so they were torn between killing her or facing the consequences of her powers) Any way the final story in the house of M show Scarlet change reality once again only everything went back to the way it once was, but with one big diffrence only about 200 mutants existed, she changed reality so mutants for the most part wouln't have their powers The main mutants like the X-men kept their powers except a few most notably Prof. X and the other big name was Magneto. Quicksilver also lost his powers but thats a whole other story the main thing is almost all mutants especially the no namersllost their powers.(a lot of people you might know lost their powers but most of the popular ones like Wolverine, Cyclops ect. kept theirs)

Fast forward a little bit to the Hulk's rampage in Las Vegas leaving some people dead and injured. This led to the meeting of the secret team known as the Illuminati,a group of the "smartest" heros or leaders(Professor X, Reed Richards, Iron man, Namor, Black Bolt) Decided they were going to call the shots for major events that happen like such. From that meeting ironman knew that the time of masked heros taking on evil by themselves was almost at an end and tried to push the registration idea on the group where this torn them apart. Oh and they tricked Hulk into space and sent him to another planet which hes supposed to come back sson real pissed in a series call World War Hulk so stay tuned.

Now move to the New Warriors, a group of heros that run a reality TV show trying to get better ratings try and tacle a few villians on the wanted list, but things backfire when Nitro explodes himself(that is his powers BTW) killing around 600 people. All of the NW dies except speedball. Now the Gov. put together a new law...Registration Act. All heros/vigalanties must ID themselves to the Gov and begin to work for them. As yuo can imagine the hero world is split with this descion some think its good some dont.

Ironman and the Fantasic 4 and spierman (who unmasked himself to the world)along with other heros and S.H.E.I.L.D try to uphold the law but capturing anyone who won't register and placing them in the Negative Zone(heros jail) Cap. America leds the Resistance with a collection of Anti-Registration heros as well leadingto battles here and there and secret meetings and such. It's just like a underground resistence against huge armies like communism and such which is the comparison I'm picking up. Anyway scince the hero community is split many heros need to decide which side they will be on or how long they want to be on one side.

Heres whats going down with the main heroes: X-men since the Gov already knows who they are and as of now they are caring for the 198(the group of mutants still left on earth a mini series in itself) the X-men said they would not take part in the war, but when the 198 decided to leave they became outlaws so they were being hunted and the X-men decided to protect their own ,kind so they inadvertly got involved by trying to say the 198 which they did and to be honest I couldn't tell you what their role is now b/c they haven't had a comic tied to the war in over a month so either they went back to the mansion with the 198 and were told not to leave or they all were arrested hopefully well find out soon.

Fantasic 4- The Thing decides to leave the country after seeing his freinds fight each other he dosen't want to be a part of this. Sue Richards leaves reed along with The Human Tourch and joins the resistance. Reed is now wondering if he is doing the right thing or not...TBC

Spiderman- He put his loyalty in Ironman and unmasked himself on TV while IM assured him nothing bad would come of this. Well right away every villian spidys had came after him or his family making Peters judgment of the SHRA(super human registraion act) and finally when he see what is going on in the negative zone(people held without trial and locked away in cages) he decides to switch sides.

There are many other people involved like Black panther, cable, punisher, moonknight, Blade and others but thats a recap on whats going down for the most part and the main heroes I mean they are many other ties ins like the Young avengers, Ms. Marve and so on but mainly this is why the SHRA is around and whos battling who. Some people have dies (Bantam and Golaith mainly) and other events have opened a few eyes Ironman and Reed cloned Thor and made him into a cyborg which I can only imagine will piss off the real Thor who is supposed to come back some time. well reed is for it b/c he knows as long as heros go unmasked people will fear heros especially what happened with the New Warriors. Prof. X I'm not sure if hes for or against the Act him and some of the X-men are in space helping the Shi-ri (I think thats how you spell it) You remember Pro. X's woman lilandra anyway him and his crew might not even know whats happening on earth right now. As for the Hulk the series is slated for some time after the war my guess is March and the ones who sent him away were Prof. X, Ironman, Reed and Black Bolt. Namor was aginst the idea b/c he and the Hulk are buddies

Authority is one of my favorites for obvious reasons. I think it's bad ass they have a gay couple at their power levels. A gay version of superman and batman. I like the way Midnighter puts his fist through people's skulls and Apollo burns their heads off with his eye beams.
