I think that is the perfect example of the politics of bodybuilding. I love bodybuilding, but even on a level as high as the Olympia, there are just too many politics. I mean, Ronnie vs Flex, Ronnie shouldn't have. Then in his later years, Ronnie's physique was going down hill, and being outdone by others before he ever actually lost. Dexter's Physique as looked nearly Identicle the past decade. Very little change at all. Yet when he boycotts the Olympia, and creates a fuss, they take him from never finishing 2nd, to suddenly being Mr. O for a single year, then immediately throwing him back down to 3rd. I mean, his physique wasn't good enough to win, or come second, then suddenly he looks identlicle and is considered the best in the world, then the next year he looks identicle again, and he is only 3rd best.
I think Kai Greene should win for many reasons. I mean, in the end it comes down to how he conditions and shows up. The best he looked was at the 2009 Arnold, he had the size to being considered a "big bodybuilder", had the conditioning and shredded physique of a top level middle weight, and has better muscle seperation than any one I have ever seen, all in one package.
Unfortunately, no matter how good he looks, even if he looks better than everyone else and deserves the win, they might use the grapefruit thing against him. Which, don't get me wrong, it was messed up, but what does that have to do with judging his physique for a bodybuilding competition? I mean, gay, straight, smart, stupid, religious, athiest, level headed, crazy, etc. What does any of that have to do with his physique on the day of the show?
