Alright, so I'm still a bit under the weather. Don't know if it was Omicron or T-Virus or "Rage Virus", but I'm feeling some better now. Which means, lets talk some football!

Eh, you know what? There isn't a lot to cover here.

    AFC
The Titans can lock down #1 seed throughout with a win against the Texans. I know the Texans wailed away on my beloved Los Angeles Football Chargers, but I do not expect them to sweep Tennessee. Titans are still without Henry, but have a lot to play for to lock up that number one slot. The obvious stuff like having a bye week, and home field, but more importantly, it would give Henry basically 2 more weeks to recover and get back into shape. I'm expecting TN to play to win, but haven't checked any news today, so they may be resting their starters for all I know.

The only other item of note in the AFC is the SNF game featuring the previously mentioned LAC vs the Las Vegas Raiders. MAAAAAANNNNNN, expect this one to get NASTY! These two teams don't like each other to start with, and you put them in what we would call in rasslin' a "loser leaves town match", bubba, you need to expect it to get raw! We will see some good football, but I would not be surprised in the least to see quite a bit of chippiness and maybe a few unsportsmanlike and unnecessary penalties called. All in all, this is the game of the weekend.

While the loser of that match goes home, the path for the winner is not all kittens and rainbows. The winner, in all likelihood, wraps up the 7th seed and gets the honor of going on the road next week to face either the Titans or Chiefs. That will be fun. Does the math say LAC could move up? It might, but that would rely upon a few other teams losing, and maybe some other crazy shit to happen, to get to 6th. In other words, whoever wins should be happy with the 7th seed.

Best part of the day so far…you never disappoint!! Henry back for the playoffs is terrifying for KC.
Look what Denver did to that run defense yesterday.

I am officially in on the Bangles band wagon!! Joe Burrows is a man’s man and getting hot exactly at the right time. How good is Ja’Mar Chase?! Wow! Add in Mixon, Boyd and Higgins and a halfway decent defense and I like their chances.

NE, Buffalo, Tennessee, Cincinnati and KC in the AFC?

NFC is a bigger toss up for me…

Dallas, GB, TB, LA and AZ makes me scratch my head. Easy money and the wagerline says LA.

Not as easy in the AFC in my opinion

Every playoff team, not just in the AFC but include the NFC, too, should be terrified for the return of Henry. No, he won't be 100%, but he will be close enough, I believe. 10 weeks to recover? That will do it. Yeah, he might have some difficulty making cuts, but once he gets in the open, forget about it. Plus, you know how we use AAS, HGH, peptides, etc to help us heal up and perform? I can't imagine the regimen these guys are on. Henry coming back changes everything. EVERYTHING in the playoff picture.

Totally agree on the conference observations. Too many quality teams in the AFC that are playing good football now, and too many in the NFC that just seem a little schizo sometimes. Like Tampa Bay... yes, a great come from behind win last week, but how the heck do you let yourself get in that spot against the Jets??

I still, at least right this second, think one of the Bays represents the NFC, but the AFC, man, that is not clear at all anymore. TN or KC are the obvious choices, but as you mentioned, you can't count those other teams out. I don't think either conference will have a dark horse sneak up and steal the crown.... Can you imagine Henry running against the Chargers run D? Somebody call Guinness, because some records are being set!

I’m a Titan fan living in Tennessee these days but does anyone else realize how bad Indy fucked themselves today??

I was wondering at the beginning of the week if Indy was going to drop the ball. I haven't seen highlights from the game, but man, that is rough! You have to play every game.

This does open up the potential, and I think it is likely, that Pittsburgh makes the playoffs. I'm sure everyone has seen, if LAC and LVR does not end in a tie, then Pittsburgh is in.

I'm not envious of whoever ends up in that 7 seed, going into Arrowhead. Still, better to be in and have a chance than not get a chance to dance.

And speaking of TN, which you were, Oh my stars and garters, they locked up the #1 seed! That means that some poor team has to go into Nashville after playing the week before and be subject to The Return of Henry (tm).

I love this time of the year!

Extremely disappointed in Indy, especially because they’ve been playing inspirational football lately. They absolutely looked past this game and made things way harder on themselves. Coming off of that embarrassing loss to the Raiders I thought they’d be out to prove themselves. Yuck…

The Los Angeles sports writers support and fan editorials have not been great as well. Not the best way to enter the post season. OBJ had his man beat & a little more distance on that last pass . . . .

Damn disappointed in Indy & impressed that Detroit didn’t shut it down at the end of the game to get the first pick in the draft.

I mean how about those Niners?? Wow

Loved watching Miami today too! They have NE’s number. I really like Brian Flores and he has done an amazing job with Waddle, that’s how you use your draft picks…
Not sure about Tua yet, but #17 is a baller

WTF is San Diego thinking? Go for it on 4th and 1 on their own 18 in a 3 point game?

Just read a little blurb about someone suggesting the Raiders coach be COTY, his name slips me. My initial reaction was to laugh but then I thought about it. Inherited a team after the Gruden debacle, dealt with the Henry Ruggs situation not to mention the other 1st round pick waving a gun. Coached for 12weeks in a very good division and wins a must win game against a very good SD team…

What do you guys think??? Any merit?

The media loves to portray Stafford as “playing for his legacy”. The facts and the stats show he has done more than about 90% of his peers including his predecessor. There isn’t the running game without Stanford…Kupp and OBJ don’t have their years without him and the defense stays off the field because of him.

He’s completed 70% of his passes, thrown for almost 5,000 yards and has 41 TD’s…all with a QBR of 103.

Fuck sports writers and reporters, they make me sick. All they do is try and drum up drama and create a story when there isn’t one. Even if they lose to AZ, they’re not even in the game without him. He has nothing to prove in my mind. The pressure should be on McVay and calling a consistent game plan for once that isn’t solely one dimensional.

Goff is a clown and looked scared most of the time…Stanford stands and delivers. When you’re a gunslinger, the interceptions are a part of the package which is what these talking heads hone in on. They just forget about the good that comes with that mentality as well. The people that know this game, know what’s he brings to the table and he doesn’t deserve any of the blowback that those are dependent on clicks try and and mire him in.

I’m not even a Stanford fan or a Rams fan for that matter. But I love the game and laced them up (unlike these keyboard warriors) and he’s no Kyler Murray but he no fucking Jared Goff either (go look at the numbers).

I realize what a massive rant that was, it just really pisses me off that they continually come after this guy. There are SO MANY terrible QB’s in the league and these fuckers have the audacity to pull this shit. Try and be a Bronco’s fan or a Bears fan…or a whole slough of other teams, we’d sacrifice our first born to have someone as capable as Stafford. The Broncos would be infinitely better with him at the helm. Jared Goff, give me a fucking break.

Guy had 19 TD passes this year, on a 17 game slate.

Get outta here with that shit…

Look what Stafford’s done for OBJ, a complete and total resurrection. 5 TD’s in almost as many game compared to ZERO in twice as many games.
Compare Kupps, Goff years to this one. Laughable

Know who John Wolford is? Get scared Rams fans…

Just saying what the papers out here are going on about. Hell, they are in a funk out here and they are pissed off & edgy. The Lakers are playing like crap despite their star power and fans are pissed. The Clippers are now without their two top superstars and the fans are pissed. Both teams had championship expectations. Then the fans were riding high on the Chargers, oops, gone. Shit, LA fans are still upset about losing their Raiders. Oh, the Dodgers from last season; big disappointment and have to rebuild. The Angels have two insane stars, but what did the Angels do? The Kings, forget about it.

Focus is now on the Rams exclusively out here in this goofy town. Unfortunately for Stafford, he was brought in for one reason and the recent trades were for that reason as well. You think they weren’t expecting to play out here in their brand new billion dollar stadium for this year’s Super Bowl? Tuff to be in Stafford’s shoes right now. McVay may have to start worrying as well if the Rams suck in this post season. Hell maybe LA can land Rogers next season if he up and leaves GB? You better believe the fans out here would be thinking that. Yup, sports writers and fans are damn fickle, unfair or not.

Oh my brothers and sisters, testify!!

    This weekend shit. gets. real!

I'll talk more in the morning (because a) I have turkey tacos to enjoy tonight and b) I MIGHT have had an early brandy and may be feeling no pain)

BTW, Jesus, it took me like 10 edits to get that last sentence right. I have been typing for damn near 30 years. THAT is how good the brandy is!

Anyhow, more in the morning, including how POSSIBLY, maybe just MAYBE the Titans go to the big dance this year.

    Ok, lets talk football.

    AFC Playoff picture

I'm just going burn through my picks for the weekend, then talk big picture.

Pats @ Bills... They split the season games 1-1. Both of these teams may be the most schizophrenic of all the teams in the playoffs. Who is going to show up? IDK. I give a slight and I do mean slight edge to the Bills in this one, mostly because of experience at the QB role and home field. Don't count out the Patriots though, but they need to show up ready to play.

Steelers @ Chiefs. The Chiefs put a pretty good hurting on the Steelers during the regular season. I don't expect any difference here, even with Big Ben's swan song. Chiefs win handily.

Raiders @ Bengals. How in the hell did the Raiders go from "on the bubble" to the #5 seed? Math. Anyhow, I'm not sure about Cincy in this one. I haven't been blown away with them this season, though obviously they have beat some tough teams, including a win against KC, though that was in KC's early slump. The Raiders have been playing above their pay grade, in my opinion... this just means they have been firing on all cylinders lately. Does this continue? I don't think so. Look for Cincy to win this one but it may be a grinder.

    Next Week
If my thinking is on, then next week will see either the Patriots or the Bengals going into Tennessee. If Henry is back, TN is a juggernaut that will see the Super Bowl. The rest of the team has been playing hard in his absence and Vrabel has got this team looking good. Tannehill REALLY needs Henry back. Yeah, I know: understatement of the year. This all assumes Henry is healthy and can play. If he is, I believe the Titans return to the Super Bowl after what, some 20+ years absence? Expect defenses to test Henry throughout the playoffs and into the big dance though, especially by designing looks that force him to cut on his repaired foot.

The Raiders... I thought they were overrated but they showed us something today. And credit to them, they stayed in games and gave us not one but two exciting games in back to back weeks. I know it doesn't seem like much, but they played a tough game against LAC last Sunday night and then 6 days later have to go to Cincy. That's a tough road.

Oh and maybe their "interim" coach gets an upgrade?

The patriots were on their heels. I did not see the whole game, but what I did, I say that the Patriots played bad.

Tim Podraza is a NFL ref. He will be the line judge (#47) in the Steelers game. He works out at the same gym I do. Cool guy.

The Pats did play bad, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that the Bills played good, really good! 7 TD drives. Ground game and passing attack was in full swing. Allen looked locked in and confident. The Bills have Bill’s #
