Back and Bi's today. Last day of work was yesterday so I'm celebrating with some beers by the pool.

Pretty descent workout, I'm still putting on a lot of size. I really need to clean up the diet which would mainly mean no more beer. Work had been such a bitch was the only way to destress at the end of the day. I was able to get the place stable before I left, which was a small miracle in of itself.

Anyway, my workout was great. Started listening to music again while I worked out. Helped up the intensity a tad. I haven't been listening to music while I lift for years now. Not sure why I stopped, but it's a nice boost.

Legs tomorrow then I pack my place up and move the fuck out of south Florida lol.

Welp after two days of packing and a 16 hour drive I made it to the mountains. Going to relax for a few days and make my way West. Going to go by my uncles lake house in Arkansas then up to KC to visit my folks. It's sooooo nice to be out of SoFlo and back around the country. I love Florida but mostly to visit.

Going to rest up a bit today, scope out the local gyms and hopefully go on a trail run later tonight. I'm looking forward to that.

When you see an old body style one ton cab and casis on I-49/71N, with leaves and sticks blowing out of its trailer, holding traffic back a hundred yards, thats me.

Got a great workout today, two actually. Found a great gym that has hammer strength equipment and all kinds of Power lifter stuff. I had to do a full upper body workout today to stay caught up.

Later in the evening I found a local trail and ran/walked about 3 miles total. Stopped by a stream in the mountains and took a quick dip. I'm pretty tired from the run but it was good to sweat heavy and be outdoors.

I love hammer strength. The incline press is awesome. Damn the good old days I'd put 6 plates per side. Get someone to help with the initial lift and rep that shit out. I really miss those days. Lucky to get 4 a side with my shoulder and elbows. Miss those lifts.

I was feeling salty today and pyramided up in weight on bench. Got up to 245 for reps of 5. Man am I paying for it now, my shoulders (plural) are killing me. The funny thing is, my chest is better now that I don't lift super heavy than when I could rep 315 on Bench.

Since my late 20's I decided not to go over 225, as my shoulders really pay for it bad. When I was really in shape I could rep max 225 between 30-35 times. I think I did 36 one time while doing a show prep. But my shoulders never felt bad after that.

Idk though I'm kinda bored and inspired by Kevin Levrone's comeback. I saw a vid last week of him hitting 520 on bench for 5 reps at 51 or 52 years old. I'm thinking to my self, if I could bench 315 for sets of 10 again, that would be really cool.

    Pretty descent leg workout tonight.

The gym I just found has a hack squat machine. I have not had access to one
Since high school. I did a pretty thorough warm up of leg extensions and curls followed by light leg press then hit the hack squat. Man oh man are my lower quads weak. I was only able to do 135lbs and it was very difficult.

The good thing is, I now know how weak they are so I'm really going to focus this last bit of rehab on strenghting my lower quads. That should really help reduce the risk of reinjury.

Otherwise it was a very good workout I kept my heart rate up pretty high. Even though it's mid July. I'm going to really focus on cutting up a bit. I have put on a descent amount of muscle mass. I'll start to bulk in September-October time frame.

Anyone else kill a workout today?

Headed to the shop for squats as soon as I finish watching a slasher movie with the wife; it's our version of spending quality time together.
I do hacks on my angled leg press and they really nail the quads. While I have the leg press setup for conventional hacks, I will grab some air and then snag reverse hacks as well. I can move a good bit more weight on reverse hacks vs. conventional hacks.

Ran across this video, and I can say I have never done this on my leg press and I have no plans to do so.

In SoFlo I would see a Brazilian and Cuban girls do reverse hacks to build their butts up. Them ladies would do legs 3-4 times a week to build giant asses. It was glorious.

Ok guys, question of the day.

Is Pro Bodybuilding dead as we know it?

    https://vimeo.com/226257873

Jay Cutler in this video and he has said it a number of times. The IFBB can't even fill an arena for the Olympia with paid tickets. He also mentions that magazines are dead as well as forums, dedicated to traditional BB.

I'm not talking amateur ranks and such. Because with the emergence of physique and classic physique in Men's and bikini, figure, and physique in women's. Those classes are more people than ever in the amateur ranks.

    100k for second place!

I think Jay is onto something when he says that they don't nearly market the Olympia enough. Plus a lot of guys disappear after the competition for 9 months until it roles around again. They need to run it like WWE or MMA and generate more hype. The Arnold Classic popularity wise is more recognized than the Olympia in my opinion. I don't really know what the answer is per say. Like I said amateur bodybuilding is more popular than ever with the additions of all the new classes.

Hell yes! I would definitely watch a reality show of the pros training. Its no wonder these guys make most of their money off clothing, sponsorships, and supplement lines, they have to!

The sad thing is there are so many brands and lines out there and they don't stick around for long. And Honestly, 95% of supplements are worthless anyway. I think most of the Pros know it, but endorsement is a way of supplementing their incomes. For me if I was in that position, I think I might be of the opinion that as long as it's not harmful I will endorse product X. Knowing full well that it's probably worthless. I don't know though, I'm not in that position.
