If i switch the laptop on and the password screen comes up(remember i dont have the password) then i put windows 7 cd in and format and install then that will do it?

put the CD in then restart the computer go into the setup screen f11 key i think change the boot order to CD then c drive your computer will boot from CD just install it and get it over with.or you can just put the CD in and restart the computer to see if it boots from Windows 7 CD
