That is a great site for gerneral info. I use it often..of course given the nature of the site there are some questionalbe articles, but overall it is loaded with great info.
Love it....its gonna be as big as google eventually. Just like google became a verb, and people say 'google it'...thats gonna happen with wikipedia.
It's coll how everyone can edit...and thankfully many people have been responsbile about it.
wikipedia is awesome...its still developing but at an astronomical rate. i love it.
Its great but you have to becareful to take the info with a fine toothed comb. Always use other sources of info. as well, to compliment

have any of you guys gone to www.uncyclopedia.org
their article on masturbation is HILARIOUS
heres a quote from their article of steroids:
Steriods contain tiny, sexually inept men, who upon release (VIA Huffing, puffing, injection, unjection, or oral) attack the nervous system, rendering it useless. Now that the user is nervous, the tiny men attack the DNA, often insulting it with attacks about it's mother or it's ability to capture the sexy ladies attention.
they have members who register called Wikipedians who basicallly voluntarily look after the site. They most likely have people doing different jobs and editing different things, but it gets done mega fast!Originally Posted by Warrior
like i did, just go and try to make a page about urself but hardly put up any info. just type ur hobbys and that your a big name in ur town! within about an r it will be gone, its pretty cool!
There was a scandal on it a little while ago with politicians editing their opponents wiki pages, they had traced back the edit ip's to senator offices etc.
wikipedia has been shown to be as accurate as britanica even though everyone can edit it.
I love wikipedia. I spend hours weakly there reading science stuff.
it is acurate, however the citation and sources and referrences constantly change. for that reason, many universities do not allow it as a credible sources...including mine.
its cool though, you find answers fast on there with tons of links to related things
