Doc might've tested me for roids

    Sup bros,
My problem: Cyp/EQ giving me bad insomnia, real bad, so went to the doctor for a sleep aid b/c melatonin/tylenol PM ain't cuttin it any more. So, asked for Lunesta or Ambien and the doctor was real skeptical with me. This doctor has also asked me about a year ago if I was on roids b/c I had high blood pressure (no roids, diet issue)... Anyway, she took blood from me, said she wanted to make sure my thyroid and liver values were okay. Something sounds fishy here. They took 3 vials of blood.

So, can they legally test me for roids and not tell me?

Can they tell my insurance company?

    Any info would help.

    Stats about me below:

25 years old, lifting for 4 years. Excellent training, diet, genetics so I got great gains naturally. My gains in the past year have almost stopped and I've exhausted many training systems. So, with research and knowledge, I started a cycle Feb 1st 2006 of :

    Weeks 1-4: Dianabol 35 mg
    Weeks 1-12: Test Cyp @ 500 mg Test EQ @ 600 mg

Nolva 20 mg per day in case of gyno.

I am in week 4 of my cycle, great gains so far and the Cyp/EQ is slowly starting to kick in.

they cant test you as far as i know..and they DEFINETLY would have to tell you if they did test you..this would be a complete violation of your privacy if they tested you withouut your prior consent

the insurance company wouldn't pay for it.. period.. but if the doc ordered it, and the lab ran the test, you signed a release that they can share the results??

i would go back to the doc, and revoke in writting your authorization for them to share any medical data on you with anyone..

Can't decifer what you meant with your spelling but in my opinion, its best not to tell the doctor because they are required to report it to your insurance company. However, I imagine that it is illegal to test someone for something without their expressed written consent i.e. contract to participate in a sport where steroid testing is routine, etc.

I absolutely did NOT sign a release to have them test me for steroids. No signing whatsoever. She was like "let me go get my lab technician", then left for 2 minutes, and then this other lady took 3 vials of my blood.

besides steroids tests are alot of freakin $.. I think they would rather pay the $100 for the pills then the $750 for the test

Afaik, you need to sign a consent form for this. I know you have to consent to other testing, such as HIV, so I'd be surprised if this was any different. Blood tests are fairly common nowadays too, most I know get vials of blood drawn at the doctor's office even for routine physicals, and they're definately not steroid users. My two cents, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Doctors are only there to help. Get a better doctor and fire this one.

You shouldn't even have to be thinking about shit like this.

And no if your over 18 they can't share anything.

The doctor can not share the information without your concent.
The doctor would not test you for "roids" just for the hell of it.
Like someone said its expensive to do testing.

Wow, do doctors really have to tell the insurer things like that in the states? that's crazy. I'm that much happier with socialized medicare.

all they need to do is test your test levels to epitest levels and they can tell if your on. they dont need to look for anything specific as your not being tested for doping. if these numbers are way off, over 6:1 ratio they'll know your on, dont know if they report this to anyone though.

i don't know the way the doctors behave with the insurance companies in the States, but i know that anti-doping tests are very expensive and are a different thing from "ordinary" blood tests. From a blood test may result that you are low/high of testosterone but they can't see tracks of any roids you are/were using

I totally agree, theres no need
for her to take this "upon herself"
if that is in fact what happened.

Ask for a printed copy of the Labs. You will than know what they tested you for. Call the secratary, ask her if your labs are back yet (3 to 4 days) and then get her to fax a copy to you or go and pick a copy up. You are paying for the testing and are entitled to a copy of the results.

Write a letter to your doctor requesting your medical file. They must comply.

even if they did test you for gear, they could do nothing of it. It violates so many laws man, I am sure they were just testing to see if you probably had a chemical imbalance of nutrients to indicate why you might not be sleeping well.

Before I did my cycle, I read a number of users who had done EQ several times before recommened EQ be run slightly higher than my test base. They noticed if they ran it 600 or even 700 mg to 500 mg test then they really noticed the results. Also, EQ seems to be best run at 12 weeks instead of 10.
